The second-generation Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG (W211) was introduced at the 2002 Paris Motor Show as the fastest production sedan in the world featuring a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine, AMG-tuned Airmatic suspension, a 5-speed Speedshift automatic transmission, and cross-drilled disc brakes with 8-pistons front calipers. This final-year Wagon version is believed to be the only example finished in Barolo Red Metallic over a two-tone Black Merlot Red leather interior and features updated E63 wheels, an aftermarket ride height lowering module, Keyless-Go entry, bi-xenon headlights, a glass sunroof, Alcantara headliner, and power heated seats with memory. It was acquired by the seller from a collector out of California earlier in 2023 and is now being offered for auction in New York with approximately 96k miles showing on the odometer.
The E55 AMG features a more aggressive front fascia and rear bumper compared to a standard W211 E-Class as well as side skirts and quad exhaust tips. This Wagon version is finished in Barolo Red Metallic and rides on updated E63 AMG 5-spoke wheels. Other details include a chrome front grille and body moldings, “V8 Kompressor” badges on the fenders, silver AMG branded brake calipers, bi-xenon headlights, black roof rails, an electric slide/tilt sunroof in glass, a heated rear window, and a power-operated liftgate. The seller notes a minor ding is present on the passenger door and the rear quarter panels may have been refinished based on paint meter readings. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this E55 AMG is appointed with Black and Merlot Red Nappa leather upholstery complemented by an Orion Grey Alcantara headliner and Birdseye maple wood trim. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front seats with memory, a pair of folding seats in the cargo area, rear window sun blinds, automatic climate control, COMAND APS with navigation, and Keyless-GO entry. The cabin is described to be in excellent condition with all accessories and electronics working properly.
Borrowed from the SL55 AMG, the E55 AMG is equipped with a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine producing up to 469 HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed Speedshift automatic transmission which allows acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4 seconds. Performance features include AMG-tuned Airmatic suspension, variable speed-sensitive power steering, and cross-drilled disc brakes with 8-piston calipers up front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. The suspension has been lowered with an aftermarket control module. The seller indicates the power steering pump and A/C compressor were recently replaced along with a Liqui Moly oil service. Corresponding records are included with the sale.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, some service records, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Excellent opportunity to own the final year of the 55 wagon with the legendary 5.4L V8. Believed to be the only one optioned in this color combination, this is not only a head-turner, but a standout amongst AMG wagons that are rare to begin with. Please come see this in person if able to, the car presents itself as if it has less than half of the mileage displayed.”

@allmack @allmack hello. The reason is that I don’t have records from previous ownership, I have the records for the work I have done since acquiring the car. Upon purchase, it needed very little and I addressed anything that stood out most notably the power steering pump and AC compressor because they were noisy and it drove me crazy! It’s all been carried out along with a liquimoly oil change. The only fault you will find with this car is that the tires could be newer in terms of date. Other than that, there is nothing I could say would need to be addressed.
Please upload maintenance records, @Eurosellinc. Post mentions "some" (why only "some"?)

Looking at picture 51, is the deteriorated windshield gasket/seal the only spot one the whole gasket.
I used to own an E55 sedan in the same shade, and always wanted to add the Merlot inserts. This wagon is optioned perfectly.
Can you share the maintenance history?
Bid in the amount of $5,500
the meter readings would indicate that yes, please see previous comment as well and thanks for the interest.
@AMGcollector Hello, Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for the interest. We provided meter readings for full transparency, there is nothing obvious to the eye when seeing the vehicle in person, however, the meter does indicated some paintwork on the rear quarters. Nothing structural was ever damaged as the panels all show as original to the car. The paintwork that was done matches perfectly in color as well as finish. We do welcome anyone who wants to see it prior to bidding to come do so. You can bid with confidence knowing that the car has been kept to high standards and shows far better than the mileage it has on it.
In case it helps, here is a link to a website which has a table of the E55 AMG Wagon Production numbers and color combinations. As indicated by the seller, this exterior color is quite rare. According to the table there are only 2 E55 AMG Wagons in this exterior color, one with a black interior and one with a red interior. This is out of a total production number of 215. GLWTA. Very special cars.
