Designated as the 987, the second-generation Porshe Boxster was introduced for the 2005 model year featuring a new design inspired by the contemporary 911 and Carrera GT. This 2005 Porshe Boxster S is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over Stone Grey leather upholstery and equips a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its mid-mounted flat-six engine as well as the optional Sport Chrono Package, Bi-Xenon Lighting System, automatic climate control, heated seats, and a Sport steering wheel. The car has also been modified with a BMC air filter, Fabspeed headers and exhaust, a performance ECU tune, a short-shift kit, adjustable Bilstein coilovers, and a Pioneer head unit with Apple CarPlay. Purchased by the current owner in 2022, this Boxster S is now being offered for auction out of Florida with approximately 62k miles showing on the odometer.
This 987 is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with a Metropol Blue cabriolet roof, optional bi-xenon headlamps, and 18” Boxster S wheels. It can be distinguished as an “S” model by its red-painted brake calipers and dual center-mounted tailpipes. Other features include side air intakes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual roll hoops, fog lights, headlamp washers, and polished Fabspeed exhaust tips. The car rides on Michelin Pilot Sport tires showing date codes from 2021 in the front and 2022 in the rear. The seller indicates the car has undergone paint correction, although some blemishes remain visible on the hood along with a touched-up scratch on the driver’s door. The convertible top elastics have failed and some signs of wear are present along the folds.
The Stone Grey leather interior features optional heated seats, a three-spoke Sport steering wheel, and woodgrain trim pieces. Other accessories include a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch, automatic climate control, cruise control, grey WeatherTech floor liners, and an upgraded Pioneer touchscreen head unit with a rearview camera, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity. Some scratches are present on the driver’s door latch, the wood trim strip on the passenger-side dashboard is bowed and has one small crack, and the trim on both door pocket lids is worn. A broken inner door handle was repaired by Porsche Jacksonville in 2022 along with a new passenger door latch, HomeLink panel, and programming for two new remote keys.
The mid-mounted 3.2-liter flat-six engine was factory-rated at 280 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque and sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine has been upgraded under current ownership with a performance ECU tune, a high-flow BMX air filter, Fabspeed long-tube headers, and a Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust system. The current owner also installed a short-shift kit and adjustable Bilstein B16 coilovers. The car was brought to the Classic Department at Porsche Jacksonville in 2022 for service including a new shifter ball housing and selector cable, an oil change, a brake fluid flush, a new battery, and new front brake pads and rotors. In preparation for sale, the car was serviced at Mack Motorwerks with an oil and transmission fluid change, brake fluid and coolant flush, throttle body cleaning, new spark plugs, a new engine belt, and a new cabin filter.
This sale will include the original headers and catalytic convers, owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean title. The CARFAX report shows no damage or accidents, although the vehicle was reported stolen in June 2009.

@G964 bearing and clutch are original I believe. With this cars engine number I wasn't concerned enough about the bearing to do it until something else like the clutch needed doing.
@carnochan ends Wednesday around 3:00 I believe. Car is available on Wednesday.
@G964 the install was performed by Mack Motorwerks here in JAX. Good friends to the PCA. They also set the ride height twice, once at the lowest setting and more recently a little higher.
I live in Miami but will be in Jacksonville Wednesday … what time does your auction end?
Nice 987.1. Just had a few questions- still on its original IMSB and clutch? Who did the install of the coilovers, and set ride height/alignment?
Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by my auction. I bought this car back in October 2022 and have really enjoyed it. I did list it on another platform and didn't find the right buyer, and look forward to finding the right buyer here on PCARMARKET. I will be here watching closely for any questions or comments. The car is with me here in Jacksonville FL for inspection. Thanks and good luck.
