Finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a premium black full leather interior, this 2004 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet features a 6-speed manual transmission, optional 18” wheels, power seats with Porsche-crested headrests, exclusive flared rocker panels, and aluminum trim pieces. It was acquired by the seller from a Porsche dealer in 2014 and has since undergone clutch, IMS bearing, and water pump replacements. Showing approximately 79k miles, this Carrera 4 is now being offered for auction out of New York.
The exterior is finished in Basalt Black Metallic with a black convertible roof, matching removable hardtop, and factory GT3-style flared rocker panels. Other optional equipment includes Litronic headlights and 18” Carrera wheels with colored center crests. Compared to a standard 996 Carrera, the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 can be identified by its silver-colored brake calipers and rear lettering. The front end is said to have been refinished after damage caused by the removal of paint protection film, and the rear end was repaired following a minor cosmetic incident. Clear paint protection film remains applied over the mirror caps and the seller notes a small dent near the gas filler door, touched-up scratches near the driver’s door lock, some blemishes on the driver’s front fender, and wear to the lower front spoiler. The car rides on a set of new Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing the minor rear-end damage in 2018.
The cabin is trimmed in black full leather upholstery and features optional heated and power-operated seats with Porsche crested headrests as well as Aluminum-Look instrument dials and exclusive aluminum inlays for the shifter and handbrake. A new aftermarket touchscreen head unit is paired with the factory Bose audio system and the seller notes signs of wear on the driver’s seat as well as scratches on the plastic trim. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine provides up to 315 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller states the clutch, IMS bearing, water pump, and brake lines have been replaced during their ownership and that the oil pressure sensor needs to be replaced. Corresponding service records are said to be available.
This sale will include a clean title.
