Topping Porsche’s Carrera model range for the 996 generation, the 4S pairs an all-wheel-drive system with the upgraded brakes, suspension, and wider body styling of the 911 Turbo. This launch-year example is finished in Black over a matching full leather interior with the optional Advanced Technic Package and a 6-speed manual transmission. After spending 14 years with a prior owner, this 996 was acquired by the seller in 2021 and has since been customized with carbon fiber exterior pieces, aluminum interior trim, Fister mufflers, a cold air intake, H&R Sport Springs, and several other performance upgrades. Also benefitting from an LN Engineering IMS bearing solution as well as recent service, this Carrera 4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey showing just over 31k miles on the odometer.

Compared to a standard 996 Carrera, the 4S sports wider fenders, Turbo-style bumpers, red brake calipers, and a unique reflector band spanning between the taillights. This Coupe is finished in Black and features an Agency Power carbon fiber lower front lip as well as Rennline carbon fiber mirrors with OEM Euro convex glass. It rides on factory 18” 911 Turbo wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps and newer Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires. The front bumper was refinished under current ownership in 2022 followed by a full paint correction, ceramic coating, and an application of clear paint protection film over the front end. One small touched-up imperfection is noted on the driver’s side quarter panel, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black full leather interior features a painted rear center console and has been customized with an aluminum Function First shift knob, Numeric Racing black aluminum pedals, aluminum instrument dial surrounds, and a Numeric Racing shirt shifter. The factory optional Advanced Technic Package adds a Bose sound system, Bi-Xenon headlights, and a 6-disc CD changer. The cabin is described to be in very good condition with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional.

Rated at 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, the 3.6-liter flat-six engine sends power to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Performance upgrades include Fister exhaust mufflers, a Flat6 Motorsports cold air intake elbow kit, a BMC performance air filter, H&R Sport lowering springs, an Elephant Racing bump steer kit, and a Racing Dynamics carbon fiber front strut tower brace. The seller states an LN Engineering IMS bearing solution was applied in April 2019 and that service was completed in February 20922 including an oil change, wheel alignment, coolant, brake fluid, and power steering fluid flush. Some additional maintenance records are said to be available from prior owners.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean title.

    @jtsherri - I agree 100%

  • jtsherri (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@PorscheFan3572_ - As you should! There’s a whole group of buyers who have not yet discovered just how good all of the non-Turbo and GT spec 996’s and 997’s are. Once they do values will skyrocket.

  • PorscheFan3572_ (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@jtsherri - Seems to have soften I guess. I don't want to give this car away. Its legit a 9 out of 10 condition wise. If it doesn't bring the 50K, I'll just keep it for now.

  • jtsherri (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

Guess the market has softened a bit for winter. I wouldn’t sell mine for where bidding ended and it has twice the miles.

@GT3-guy - Good eye.. Yes I also have them available. 19in LMs in gold. Running 235 in the front and 305 in the rear. Secured to the car with Raceseng Titanium lug bolts. Approximately 300 miles on them.

  • GT3-guy 1 year, 11 monthsago

Okay so I just caught some pics with those gold BBS wheels… Lordy!! What’s the story with those? 996’s just have THE best profile ever…
    watching!

@jake yes all the OEM parts come with the car.

  • jake (registered bidder) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@PorscheFan3572_ great! Thanks for the response. I’m assuming the OEM parts are included in the sale?

  • PorscheFan3572_ (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@jake The car has never been tracked as far a I l know. I have all the OEM parts except the mufflers. Everything in the car works including the speed deployable wing, power moon roof. No electrical issues at all.

  • jake (registered bidder) 1 year, 11 monthsago

Car looks great! Has it ever been tracked? Do you have any of the OEM parts that have been replaced? Does the sunroof work? Does the wing auto deployment work? Any electrical issues?

  • Sbattman64 (registered bidder) 1 year, 11 monthsago

Very nice example with tasteful performance mods. Single DIN radio and no heated seats = console delete. Would look great in this car!

@Tangerine997 - There was no issues with the shifter popping out. I simply upgraded to the Numeric shifter because of the feel it provides. When you experience it, then you know. That combined with the Function First shift knob make all the difference in my opinion.

  • Tangerine997 (registered bidder) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@PorscheFan3572_ Car looks great in and out.
Question about the Numeric shifter, was that done to address the pop out gear issue these cars have. Porsche did not upgrade trans until 2003. Not sure if it states that this was done by you or the first owner.
    Thanks.

@nhskibm - I completely understand. That's why I'm leaning towards the GT4. I really love the NA aspect to it. I feel 300-400hp for the street is a great sweet spot. Very drivable and won't get you into to much trouble. Nothing like sound of driving a NA Porsche. Your 76 Targa sounds like it would be fun.. Thanks again for the kind words.

  • nhskibm (registered bidder) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@PorscheFan3572_ Don't get me wrong - loved my T, especially since we did Euro Delivery with it (sold it here). Problem for me was 1. I tuned it and 500hp on the street gets me into trouble, 2. I felt guilty putting it on the track as 1 of 1,000 made (Club Motorsports member), and 3. I felt bad putting my super shedding Heeler in it to go MTB and such.

So basically it sat. I built a '76 3.2L targa which was more "special" to drive - albeit for about what the T costs and then happened upon my 996 C4S that literally looks like this one. It currently is living outside, sitting on 4 snow tires, and has a rack on it. Literally ultimate DD for winter IMO.

Yours is almost too nice to use in the NH winter and my 115k mile one is likely better for the task but man, this would be tempting if I didn't have the twin of it!

GLWA - I hope it does well!

  • PorscheFan3572_ (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@nhskibm - Thank you very much for the awesome write up. It's funny because the 991.2 Carrera T was one of the cars I was looking at to replace this. Although I am leaning towards a First gen GT4. This 996 C4S has been a blast to own and drive and is by far, in my opinion one of the sexiest looking Porsches from behind with full length reflector. I was very precise and careful when selecting the modifications I wanted to do. I never wanted to change the car, I just wanted to enhance the what Porsche started with. The Numeric shifter and the Fister exhaust are by far my favorite mods.

Picked one of these up this summer with 114k on the clock after parting ways with a 991.2 Carrera T. Bang for the buck it’s arguably more fun.

And this one has had all the work done to it that needs and should be done (save for PCCM) and will likely give the next owner many smiles per mile at a fraction of what most other 911s with these miles go for.

Whether looking for a 996 or just trying to get into a low mile 911 you should bid, you won’t regret it.

Now, for those that think “well, I can get an aircooled for where this ends up” - yes, you likely can and then spend another $20k on it to make it as turn key as this one (spoken from experience). This is a get in it and drive 911.

    Just do it.

  • PorscheFan3572_ (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@rspinajr - No worries at all. Thank you for the compliment on the car.

  • rspinajr (registered bidder) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@PorscheFan3572_ Serves me right for not reading and looking at pics - What a beautiful car. looks so strong!!!

  • PorscheFan3572_ (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@rspinajr - The front lip is made by Agency Power and is made of carbon fiber. It is cleared and PPF is applied to lip. You can see the carbon fiber weave.

  • rspinajr (registered bidder) 1 year, 11 monthsago

What front lip is that? is it painted body color?

  • PorscheFan3572_ (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@JayYu - Thank you for your question. I do not have pics of the under carriage. I can try and get some in the next few days. Would have to drive it up on the race ramps. That would be the best I can do while its at my home.

  • JayYu 1 year, 11 monthsago

Any photos of the under carriage?
