Equipped with a 6-speed manual transaxle and a 3.6-liter flat-six engine, this 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Graphite Grey interior. It was factory-optioned with Porsche crest embossed headrests, the Heated Front Seats Package, the Advanced Technic Package, the Comfort Package, and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). The car has also been fitted with a red cabriolet roof and aftermarket 18” Victor Equipment wheels. Purchased by the seller in 2018, the car has since received a new clutch, flywheel, IMS bearing, a new air/oil separator, water pump, Bilstein dampers, and more. This 996 is now being offered for auction out of New Mexico with approximately 78k miles showing on the odometer.
This 996 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a replacement red convertible top. The optional Advanced Technic Package adds bi-xenon headlamps with washers. Other equipment includes fog lights, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, and aftermarket 18” Victor Equipment Le Mans wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. New Michelin Pilot Sport N3 tires were mounted about 3 years ago within the last 5k miles. The front bumper is believed to have been previously refinished and shows some signs of road-going wear. Other noted imperfections include fading paint on the rear bumperettes, a small ding on the right rear quarter panel, a chip on the hood, and misaligned trim on the convertible top near the rear window.
The Graphite Grey interior features optional heated and power-adjustable seats with adjustable lumbar support, driver memory settings, and Porsche-crested headrests. Accessories include a three-spoke leather steering wheel, Carrera-branded door sills, automatic climate control, cruise control, an onboard computer, a 6-disc CD changer, a Bose sound system, and an aftermarket Pioneer Bluetooth stereo. Some signs of wear are noted on the gear knob, brake handle, and center console. The seller adds that the passenger seat heater is currently inoperable.
A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle. The car is factory-equipped with Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and comes standard with four-wheel ventilated disc brakes and fixed 4-piston calipers. Since purchasing the car in 2018, the seller replaced the IMS bearing, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, air/oil separator, spark plugs, coils, expansion tank, water pump, pulleys, belts, tensioners, catalytic converters, battery, alternator, and central control module. Upgraded Bilstein B6 sport struts and shocks have been installed as well.
The sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I purchased the car in February 2018, from a small dealer in Santa Fe (with 59,321 miles showing) knowing that it had the original IMS bearing. When I had the IMS bearing replaced, I decided to replace just about everything that could be reached while the car was up on the rack. Over the years I've taken it to our local autocross (where the car was a much better car than I was a driver). In the meantime, it's been kept in a heated garage, driven in the rain maybe three times in six years (we don't get much in New Mexico), and basically treated like a member of the family. I'd keep it, but chronic foot problems make it difficult to work the clutch. And no, I'm not interested in an auto transmission Porsche, not even a PDK.”

Two additional flaws that I neglected to mention in my initial submission: the plastic trim piece on the bottom of the driver's seat has become detached (doesn't affect operation); and some curb rash on two of the wheels.
