This 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Metropol Blue full leather interior. It was generously optioned with 18” Light Alloy Carrera wheels, the Advanced Technic Package, Power Seat Package, Design Package, and more. Offering all-wheel drive performance and an open-air driving experience, this Carrera 4 Cabriolet is said to have undergone a complete engine rebuild including a 3.8-liter upgrade using LN Engineering Nikasil cylinder liners and Mahle Motorsport pistons. Driven approximately 500 miles since the rebuild and fitted with a new IMS bearing, this 996 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado while showing approximately 128k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a Metropol Blue convertible soft top. It rides on optional 18” Light Alloy Carrera wheels with colored Porsche center crests and mismatched Sumitomo tires from 2022 and 2017. The optional Advanced Technic Package adds Bi-Xenon headlights and headlight washers, while standard equipment includes silver-finished brake calipers, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller states the front bumper seems to have been refinished under previous ownership, and minor paint blemishes are noted including slight imperfections on the right side of the rear bumper and beneath the fuel filler. A color-matched hardtop is said to accompany the sale, and additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Metropol Blue full leather upholstery accented with the optional Design Package (P71) which adds aluminum-look instrument dials, aluminum inlays for the gear selector and brake handle, and stainless-steel door entry guards with Carrera designations. Additional options include the Power Seat Package, Metropol Blue floor mats, and the Advanced Technic Package which adds a wind deflector, a 6-disc CD changer, and the Bose sound system. The seller adds that the head unit has been replaced and all gauges, electronics, and accessories are working properly.
This Carrera’s flat-six engine is said to have been upgraded to a 3.8-liter displacement using LN Engineering 99mm Nikasil liners and Mahle Motorsport pistons, pins, and rings approximately 500 miles ago. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Having undergone a complete engine rebuild, work is also said to have included a full disassembly and inspection, cleaning of case halves, and the installation of new timing chain guides & rails, valve seals, Beru coils, spark plugs, gaskets, seals, and coolant hoses. Additionally, a new IMS bearing is said to have been fitted along with a new coolant expression tank and clutch disc. The valves were also re-lapped, and all fluids and filters were refreshed. Service items carried out before the rebuild are said to include new front CV boots, front brake pads & sensors, front brake rotors, a water pump, a thermostat, and a 4-wheel alignment.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and a toolkit.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for viewing my auction. With the fresh 3.8-liter engine rebuild this car is ready to continue being enthusiastically enjoyed for years to come.”

@luis.seneriz - As far as power now, I would guess closer to the specs of a 997 3.8L at approx. 350HP and 295lb-ft. I can't imagine any reason why it wouldn't be able to handle any road trip. I have had a couple turbo's and currently have an earlier 911 as well. This certainly fits well in between those!
@Davcollbay. How much
Power would you say the engine is making now? I like flying and driving, I live in the Houston area, any reasons the car wouldn’t be able to make the trip. ? I own an early car and a 2003 modified turbo coupe. Thanks
Hi- Thanks! I performed the rebuild myself with of course LN Engineering completing the case and Nikasil liners. Longtime enthusiast mechanic this being my 2nd M96 engine. Any other questions feel free to ask.
