The third-generation Toyota MR2 was launched in 1999 as the first open-top Spyder version of the car, powered by an aluminum alloy 1.8-liter inline-four DOHC engine with VVT-I variable valve timing. Finished in Silver Streak Mica over a black cloth interior, this 2001 example was purchased new by the seller’s father and features a 5-speed manual transmission, power steering, ventilated four-wheel disc brakes, 15” aluminum alloy wheels, air conditioning, a three-spoke steering wheel, and aluminum pedals. Having remained in the original owner’s family since new, this MR2 Spyder is now being offered for auction out of Washington with approximately 25k-miles showing on the odometer.
This Toyota is finished in Silver Streak Mica and equipped with a manually folding black convertible top with a heated glass rear window. Other details include side air intakes, wheel arch flares, a vented engine cover, a polished tailpipe, power-adjustable mirrors, a rear fender-mounted antenna, and 15” five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels. The seller indicates the tires have ample tread and the car’s exterior remains in excellent overall condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black interior features cloth bucket seats with contrasting grey centers, a black leather four-spoke steering wheel, a leather-wrapped gear knob, aluminum pedals, and silver instrument dials. The driver is provided with power windows, locking storage compartments, air-conditioning, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo with a CD player. The seller notes remote hood, trunk, and fuel door releases have been added. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly.
Featuring VVT-I variable valve timing, the mid-mounted 1.8-liter 1ZZ-FED DOHC inline-four engine delivers up to 138 HP and 125 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with electro-hydraulic power-assisted steering, four-wheel independent suspension, anti-roll bars, and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. The seller reports all service has been kept up to date.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

@WAC1 Can you give me additional pics of the hood? I can't tell if it has a bunch of chips or if it's just the photo or needs a wash

@BoxsterGT I appreciate the offer but it is far too low.. I had this car sold on BaT for $16,750 back in August and then the buyer tells me he needed to finance it and the bank would not give him the loan

I am happy to show the winning bidder the fathers name on purchase and invoices and then to sons name (same last name) proving the entire history of ownership father to son but I am not going to post their full names here -
Bid in the amount of $2,500
@ TheWeekendMotorCo sure it has only had two actual owners father and son - carfax documents each time the car is registered it does not take into account that the same person registered it inteo different states because they moved or that it was registered by the same member of a family - I can provide all the documentation showing its purchase and ownership is just by two people Farhad and son - I will see if they can add a few photographs with this information.
Bid in the amount of $1,250
would you ind explaining, how its documented as a 4 owner car, but sold as one-family owner? did you sell it within the family, or has it just been title transfers for insurance and tax purposes?
