Finished in Meridian Metallic over a Black interior, this 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe features a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine. It was treated to a major service with a new clutch, flywheel, rear main seal, and IMS bearing around the time of the current owner’s purchase in 2018 and has been modified with a rear spoiler, front splitter, aftermarket bucket seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, 18” three-piece wheels, and more. This Carrera is now being offered for auction out of Colorado with approximately 61k miles showing on the odometer.
This 996 is finished in the uncommon color of Meridian Metallic and has been customized with a front lip spoiler, rear mudguards, a body-colored rear spoiler, extended exhaust tips, and Porsche script side stripes. It rides on 18” three-piece wheels finished in bronze with polished outer lips and Kumho Ecsta tires from 2018. The original 17” wheels are also included with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The seller notes an area on the nose where the clear coat is beginning to peel. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black interior has been customized with a pair of aftermarket racing-style bucket seats with red stitching Takata four-point safety harnesses. Other accessories include an aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel, aftermarket stainless-steel pedal covers, power windows and mirrors, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, and a Porsche CDR-220 stereo. The airbag warning light is present on the dashboard due to the aftermarket steering wheel. The original seats and steering wheel are included in the sale.
Factory-rated at 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller indicates the exhaust system and air intake may have been modified, and the car was serviced in 2018 with a new IMS bearing, clutch, flywheel, and rear main seal. A new battery was also installed in August 2024.
This sale will include the original wheels, seats, and steering wheel, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This was my husband’s car. He passed away 22 months ago. Its hard to let this car go, but it needs love and care, and needs to be driven. A motorcycle mechanic by trade, my husband loved any precision machine and loved to go fast. He raced motorcycles semi-professionally but never got to race this car. From 2018 thru 2022 the car was driven at least weekly, just for the pure pleasure. Since 2022, it has been started/driven at least once monthly. I hope whoever buys this car will love it as much as we did. Thank you for visiting my auction.”

The "bid now" price seems fair and "market". I don't understand the lack of interest in this car, with all the work that's been done. That said, @gladiola if I may kindly offer a suggestion: Obviously this car was set up as a track car, which is perfectly fine. Racing seat, race harness, race pedals, etc. If you or or husband didn't track this nice, low mileage 996 under your tenure, that's fine too, but it is/was definitely set up to be tracked. This 996 is a good candidate to be fully updated and made ready for more track usage. If you have all the paperwork done in 2018, I would suggest that it would be in your best interest to load up pictures of those docs. And it would also be in your best interest to load up a driving video and a "cold start" video with the engine running a couple of minutes so that there are no tell tale sounds of engine issues. If I didn't just buy a Cayman S donor to be stripped out and turned into a track car, this would have been "the one". GLWS! All the best. We bought the Cayman literally 2 days ago.

Curious why a new owner is showing on the Car Fax a month ago when your husband passed away 22 months ago? (Sorry for your loss.)
Which IMS bearing was used? Can you upload all receipts you have for the service performed since you obtained the car?

Im a fan of the seats/steering wheel, looks like a fun setup. Any chance we will see a cold start video? Does seller know if a catalytic converter is installed with what could be an aftermarket exhaust? Thanks.
