Based on the 996 platform, the Porsche 911 Turbo entered the new millennium for the 2001 model year featuring a twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine derived from the 1998 Le Mans-winning 911 GT1 race car. This launch-year example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic (L92U) over grey leather upholstery with carbon fiber accents and Sport Seats. Featuring a Cobb Stage 1 tune, a short shift kit, a new clutch, the replacement of the rear main seal, and more, this 996 Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois.
The 996 Turbo features wider fenders than a contemporary Carrera along with side air intakes, flared rocker panels, unique bumpers, and a fixed rear spoiler with a hydraulic speed-activated wing. This Coupe is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic (L92U) and rides on factory 18” 911 Turbo Twist wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2017. The seller adds that paint protection film covers the hood, and the front bumper and left front fender were replaced due to an accident in July 2011. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is situated within a grey leather interior featuring Sport Seats as well as with carbon fiber accents along the center stack, center console, shifter & brake handles, air vents, and door panels. Other accessories include an Alcantara headliner, power-adjustable seats, a sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, a remote central locking system, and model-designated doorsills.
A replacement twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine was installed by Porsche in 2001. It delivers up to 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes and cross-drilled 330mm discs at each corner. The seller adds that a Cobb Stage 1 tune has been applied, a short shifter has been fitted. Additionally, the clutch and rear main seal are said to have been replaced with the last 3k miles.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, and a battery charger.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. Here is a really nice stock 911 Turbo. The paint and interior are in exceptional condition. The Computer has a stage 1 Cobb tune and a short shift kit. It has a new clutch and water pump. The car runs and drives great.”

Last October I had the rear main seal replaced because it had a small leak, as well as other smaller issues taken care of. The wheels were refinished at 71,000 miles. A Sachs GT-2 clutch was installed at 71,800 miles as was the B & M short shift. A new water pump and belt at 73,000 miles.
Hi, I am the owner. To add to what cwsconsulting indicated.
The accident happened with the second owner who I purchased the car from. He indicated the airbags did not deploy. I did not get any pictures of the accident with the car. I have had multiple mechanics work on this car and none have ever asked me about it being in an accident. There is little indication it was repaired, for instance in just the right lighting you might see a difference with the from bumper. The good news is the front bumper does not have much road rash.
I also have receipts for this car going back to 2001, all three owners have taken good care of it and repaired any issues that came up.
@Dinodinodino Hi The engine was repaced at 3000 miles by the Porsche factory because of a weeping oil leak in the engine case. Total miles on chassis is 77,000 miles on engine 74,000. The accident happened in 2011 at which time the car was owned by a prior owner. The current owner does not have pictures. The accident involved the left front fender, bumper, wheel, front suspension. These parts have all been replaced with new Porsche parts.
Second what dinodinodino said. A little more information will go a long way
The carfax indicates that the accident was severe. Did the air bags go off ? You owned the car yet don’t have any pics prior to repair?
Thank you
Never heard of this engine needing to be replaced…

and clearer pictures of the frunk option sticker? Hard to read from the picture posted.
Hi tkoz I do not have pictures of the accident. The parts replaced were the front bumper, left front fender, left front wheel. left front suspension repairs completed 1/4/2012
@Slm The engine was replaced because of oil leaks in the casting That was done by the Porsche factory at apx 3000 miles on the car cwsconsulting
