Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1989, the Mercedes-Benz R129 series received updates in 1996 and 1999 before concluding production in 2002. This 2000 example is among the final iterations of the R129 and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Amber Red Metallic over Saffron Nappa leather upholstery, it comes equipped with a removable hardtop, xenon headlights, 17” Albali wheels, power-adjustable seats with position memory, an aftermarket radio, and more. Showing just over 55k miles on the odometer, this R129 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.
This example is finished in Amber Red Metallic (548U) and comes with a removable body-color hardtop. Exterior features include xenon headlights with automatic level control, fog lights, fender vents, a panoramic windshield wiper, and 17” Albali wheels. The seller notes minor scratches on the front bumper and hood, as well as curb rash on the wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with a CARFAX report documenting minor damage in December 2019.
The cabin offers power-adjustable and heated seats upholstered in Saffron Nappa leather, along with a matching dashboard and door panels accented by decorative wood veneers on the doors and center stack. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, and an aftermarket JVC head unit. All gauges and electronics are reported to be in proper working order with no warning lights illuminated.
Power comes from an all-aluminum M113 5.0-liter V8 engine, which delivers a factory-rated 302 HP and 339 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. The seller reports that the vehicle is up to date on its maintenance.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Very nice driver low mile SL500.”
