The Porsche 996 welcomed the new millennium as the first water-cooled 911, presenting elegant proportions, a lightweight body, and naturally aspirated flat-six performance. This early Carrera Cabriolet comes finished in Black with a matching interior and features a 6-speed manual transmission as well as a desirable cable-driven throttle for its flat-six engine. Residing on the East Coast, this 1999 example is now being offered for auction with approximately 74k miles on the odometer.
This 996 comes finished in Black with a matching power-retractable soft top and rides on a set of 17” 996 Twist wheels. The seller adds that a RestorFx clearcoat repair has been applied, paint correction has been performed, and the soft top’s hydraulic cylinders were repaired in July 2022 along with the replacement of the rear plastic window. Some paint imperfections and curb rash are noted and some areas of the exterior have been previously refinished. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage in 2001.
The interior is appointed with black leather and power-adjustable front seats. Additional equipment includes a Becker CDR 210 head unit, automatic climate control, and cruise control. Signs of wear are noted on the shifter knob and front seats.
This Carrera is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine that generates up to 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque stock. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission, and stopping power is handled by fixed 4-piston calipers clamping down on ventilated and cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. The seller adds that the recent service includes an oil and filter change in preparation for sale.
This sale will include a clean title.

Hi All
We are getting close to the end of the auction
Please let us know if you have any questions!
Good luck bidding
@blakcar thanks for the clarification
@Wsarge We uploaded a picture of the engine now after we wiped it down. Check it out.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
@ Wsarge
They thanks - good eye!
We just went out to check that out and what you saw is residue from the detail job. We don’t let the Detailer shine or wipe down the engine.
These speckles were from the paint correction and the polish/wax job. I think some of that the residue came through the vents on the wing..
What is the white specks all over the engine compartment? Looks like sand, salt, etc.

Thanks

@blakcar Thank you.
@gailandray so this accident was only minor damage, there was no airbag deployed and the original option sticker (from the factory)is still on the inside of the front trunk
@blakcar Sorry. The Carfax date was in 2001. Any details? Thanks.
@gailandray
There was no damage reported in 2021..
This car is a 3/98 build and as such is a dual row IMS which is very reliable
IMS? Damage on 9/17/21? Thank you.
