Never offered in the United States market, the Mercedes-Benz W463 G500 Cabriolet offers an open-top driving experience paired with one of the most desirable 4x4 vehicles ever made. This 1999 example was originally produced for the German market and comes finished in Black Opal Metallic over matching leather upholstery. It features the Exclusive Package, burled walnut interior trim, heated front and rear seats, and much more. Showing approximately 119k kilometers or 74k miles on the odometer, this sought-after G-Class is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
Finished in Black Opal Metallic with a black convertible soft top, this G500 also features a matching spare wheel cover, chrome trim with black accents, bodyside moldings, and a trailer hitch. Equipment includes fog lights, stainless steel side steps, and 18” 5-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in new Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is upholstered in Black Nappa leather with matching carpets and burled walnut veneer accenting the steering wheel, center console, passenger’s side grab handle, and seating control surrounds. Equipment includes the optional Exclusive Package, heated front and rear seats, Ultrasonic Backup Assist, and illuminated stainless steel door sills. All gauges and accessories are reported to be in proper working order.
Powered by a 5.0-liter M113 V8 engine, the G500 sends up to 292 HP and 339 lb.-ft. of torque to all four wheels by way of a 5-speed 5G-Tronic automatic transmission and a full-time all-wheel-drive system with locking front, center, and rear differentials. Standard equipment also includes an electronic stability program (ESP). The seller adds that a recent service and inspection were performed at Mercedes-Benz of Delray Beach, FL, and no outstanding maintenance items have been reported.

Hi everyone. As we enter the final few hours of the auction, I wanted to thank you for your comments and PMs received so far. As those who have seen the car in person will confirm, she is in superb condition. Freshly inspected and serviced by M-B, she drives beautifully and generates a thumbs-up reaction wherever she goes. Top up or down, she’s great fun to drive, and will make the next owner very happy indeed.
With only 213 G500 Cabriolets built between 1998 and 2000, very few of which are in the US, she will also always be a rare sight on the road.

@Neal3456 Hi, there are no debts or dings in the doors. There are a few very small paint chips to the front hood which I have tried to highlight in photos 121, 123 and 124 (the white dots), but otherwise the car is in beautiful condition and also recently detailed and ceramic coated.

@jglobe I believe the spare tire cover came with the car from new. Don’t see any available in a quick search of the secondary market, so best bet is to ask your local main dealer.

@likemytoys Hi, the roof is electric and operated by the red button in the center console (similar to the R129 SL from the same era).
As far as I can tell, the paint is original.
The spare factory cover is original and very rare. The metallic hardshell is more common. The option code is “RD2 MOTOVIN SPARE TIRE COVER”.
