Available for auction is this 1999 Mercedes-Benz R129 SL500 finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over a Black Nappa leather interior. Equipped with the factory Sport Package and 18” AMG wheels, this 1999 example was acquired by the seller approximately two years ago and is said to have been refreshed with new leather upholstery, shocks, springs, a new convertible top and hydraulics, new Michelin tires, and more. With approximately 84k miles showing on the odometer, this SL500 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of California.
This R129 is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic with a Merlot convertible soft top. The front bumper was refinished for cosmetic purposes under the seller’s care along with the installation of a new convertible top and hydraulics. A new OEM windshield has also been fitted and both headlamps were recently replaced and leveled. The factory Sport Package includes a front apron with mesh air intake, a contoured rear apron, sculpted side skirts with Sport emblems, and 18” AMG 5-spoke monobloc alloy wheels which come dressed in a set of newer Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
The cabin features heated and power-adjustable seats trimmed in black leather along with a matching dashboard and door panels accented by burled walnut trim. The seats and headrests are said to have been reupholstered by the current owner using OEM Mercedes leather. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, Xenon headlights, power side mirrors with memory, and an aftermarket Continental radio head unit.
Power comes from an all-aluminum M113 5.0L V8 engine rated at 302 HP and 339 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed automatic transmission. The suspension has been upgraded with H&R lowering springs, Bilstein shocks, and 15mm H&R spacers for improved handling and a more aggressive stance. The CARFAX report includes 12 service history records dating as far back as 2002, and more recently the car received new front and rear brakes, a new battery, a new ignition lock, and an oil and filter service.

@dshemtob Thank u for the bids but were still a bit away. Im at a loss on this car with all the money ive spent so trying to make the loss as minimal as possible and right now at 12 the gap is way to big. Message me direct or thru Pcar if we can meet somewhere in between. Im still open to try to make a deal, otherwise i'll throw her up on Autotrader and let it sit. Not in a rush at all. Thanks again

Also, I have not had a chance to post it, but silver perfect condition hardtop is also included in the sale. Not a pano, just the regular hard top!!
@CT944 The gap does look a little off in the pictures. Both sides line up perfectly. To my knowledge, the hood / fenders have not been removed or replaced. For sure during my time nothing like that i can guarantee. As far as all electronics, AC, the top, power door locks, everything works perfect.

@Coachmule the entire system was replaced about 3 months ago, including the top 2. I have the invoice from TopHydraulics. I’ll upload the invoice and get the tire dates when back at the warehouse on Monday. Have a great weekend.
When we’re the hydralic pistons for the top repaired or replaced? Especially the top two where the top closes. I believe these have 10 or 12 I can’t remember but I’ve done it very expensive repair. Date on tires?

I also have the factory hardtop for this car that i will pull out of my storage container and add some photos. The hardtop is included in the deal and no, unfortunately its not the Pano roof, just the regular silver hardtop in excellent condition. This truly is a great car and ready to go to a new home.
