Styled by Pininfarina and powered by a high-revving 3.5-liter V8, the F355 has become one of the most sought-after classic Ferraris for its excellent sound, performance, and driving feel. This 1999 example sports the most traditional specifications with Rosso Corso paint, a tan leather interior, 5-spoke magnesium wheels, and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The car had been with its previous owner since 2013 and was subject to a major engine-out service in 2019 as well as the installation of an upgraded air intake and exhaust system. This F355 GTS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey with just over 23,500 miles on the odometer.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is built around a steel monocoque chassis and incorporates side air intakes, popup headlamps, an integrated rear spoiler, and distinctive flying buttress pillars on either side of the vented engine cover. This GTS is finished in Rosso Corsa with a matching removable roof panel. Factory equipment includes integrated front fog lights, Ferrari-branded brake calipers, quad exhaust outlets, and 18” 5-spoke magnesium wheels that are currently dressed in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires from 2017.  The CARFAX report shows damages to the front and rear bumpers to have occurred in 2014 and 2017, and the seller states both incidents happened at car shows and the bumpers were refinished to address the damage. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and the full CARFAX report.

Inside, the driver is greeted by a pair of adjustable sports seats trimmed in tan Connolly leather with matching carpets and a contrasting black leather dashboard. Equipment includes a polished gear knob and gated shifter, drilled aluminum pedals, a black leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, power accessories, a Ferrari-branded stereo, analog Veglia instrumentation, and black carpet floor mats with red piping and embroidered logos. The original buttons have been refinished to address stickiness and the seller notes leather upholstery has shrunk around the passenger airbag cover and near the dashboard air vents.

A mid-mounted 3.5-liter DOHC V8 engine with 5 valves-per-cylinder delivers up to 375 HP and 268 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The engine has been upgraded with a Tubi Style exhaust system and Fabspeed Motorsport carbon fiber air intake. A major engine-out service completed in 2019 included new cam belts, tensioners, timing adjustments, a compression test, new belts, hoses, gaskets, and seals as well as refinishing the cam covers. The most recent oil and filter change was carried out in February 2022 and additional maintenance records are provided for reference in the gallery.

This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a car cover, Targa top cover, a red master remote key fob, and two additional keys with black remote fobs.

I bought a similar F355 from Ambassador last year and couldn't be happier from how everything went in the purchase, shipping down to the car itself. Bid with confidence.

Final year F355 Red/Tan/GTS/6 speed is a great car, hope it finds a new home today!

@jonyc Thanks for reaching out. The first incident in 2014 happened at a Ferrari meeting in Florham Park, NJ. Someone backed into the front of the car while it was parked. In 2017, it was at a Cars and Coffee in near the New Jersey Shore and someone tapped the back bumper of the car while it was parked on the street. Police report and photo are in the photo gallery. I have known the car since the owner bought it in 2013. The targa roof is a factory roof and was ordered red from the factory which was an option in 1999.

Can you provide a little more detail on the "incidents" that occurred at the car shows from the carfax? Also, is that a factory targa roof or is it aftermarket?

@Ambassador-Auto That's a great deal, and on a car like this worth every penny.

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@TubeGuy I had it done on a different 355 about 6 months ago through the shop J. Scuderia in Cranbury, NJ. It was right around $4,000 to pull the dash and airbag, have them recovered and re-installed. It came out perfect. The leather looked factory and the job was perfect.

  • TubeGuy (registered bidder) 1 year, 11 monthsago

Very nice car. The dash and airbag leather problems are so common. My 355 didn't have them, but many do. I wonder how much it costs to remedy it? Anyone done that?
