One of the rarest and most sought-after models of the last air-cooled 911 generation, the Porsche 993 Carrera S features wide Turbo-derived bodywork, a unique split grille rear decklid, and a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter engine sending power to the rear wheels. This 1998 example represents the 993’s final model year and is finished in Guards Red over Cashmere Beige leather upholstery. It comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transaxle, polished 18” Turbo wheels, the optional Motor Sound Package, and 8-way power-adjustable seats. Recently treated to an engine-out service with new valve and timing chain cover gaskets, this C2S is now being offered for auction out of Oregon with approximately 73k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to a standard 993 Carrera, the Carrera S features wide fenders, rockers, and bumpers from the contemporary 911 Turbo as well as a model-specific split-grille rear decklid. This example is finished in Guards Red and is equipped with projector headlights, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, an electric sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, polished dual exhaust outlets, and polished 18” 911 Turbo wheels with colored Porche crest center caps. The seller describes the exterior to be in very nice condition while showing normal signs of road-going wear. Some areas of the car are said to have been previously refinished. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a CARFAX report showing minor rear-end damage in 2017.
The cabin is appointed with Cashmere Beige and black leather upholstery. Accessories include a black leather four-spoke steering wheel, 8-way power-adjustable seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, a Carrera S-branded central tachometer, and a Kenwood radio.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 282 HP to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle. This car is factory-equipped with the optional Motor Sound Package which includes a revised airbox and mufflers for a more aggressive tone. The seller states an engine-out service was performed under their ownership including new valve cover and timing chain cover gaskets.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.

@terra If you look at the carfax - we received the car 10/16/2024... The CV boot was torn and replaced. No suspension issues were found by the shop. Oil change was done when the engine was out for the valve covers and timing covers.
Please respond to my question. Also, am I to understand that you have had the car over 3 years and have only put 60 miles on it? When was the last service/oil change? Thanks.
@peterkaczynski Thank you for noticing that... We received the car with 73,490 however our system reported in incorrect mileage of 73,850 as seen on carfax. I have already submitted a claim with carfax to get that fixed.
Regarding the report in 2022, it must have been a mistake on that service shop. I have also submitted a claim to carfax to get that report corrected as well. My guess is that they had entered in the mileage incorrect as the car was listed for sale in november of 2022 with 72,694 miles. We see incorrect mileages put into carfax often.
I have submitted a photo of the current odometer with 73,563 miles. Which should clear up the air.

Looks like this sold here on Pcar in 2021 for $92k then went RNM on BAT in 2022 at $104k and has been at GP for a while with some price drops.
What was the issue with the CV joints/suspension, and what, if anything, was done to address these issues?
Thanks for the receipt, question, the odometer on the document from November 2024 shows 73,499 but the odometer in the photos reads 73,490, the carfax from 2022 says 73,834, then in 2024 it jumps to 73,850 when GPmotors purchased it? what’s the deal with that?

Last i inquired about your 993 you said it has 2006 date codes on tires and needs rear cv joints/ suspension work. Have you addressed these issues?
Doesn’t seem like the question was answered before so I’d also like to know, “Does the engine out service with new valve covers mean the valve guides were replaced?” Also, do you have leak down test results? (Not asking questions to ask questions I’m interested in it)

Not that a driver needs a '98 but that year is negated by the other factors in its market value (I think.)
