Featuring wide Turbo-derived bodywork, a unique split-grille decklid, and a rear-wheel-drive configuration, this 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera S Coupe represents the final year of the air-cooled 911 and one of the most sought-after models in the series. It comes finished in Guards Red over Black leather upholstery and equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, an optional limited-slip and automatic braking differential (ABD), power hardback Sport Seats, an electric sunroof, 17” Cup 2 wheels, the Motor Sound Package, and the Hi-Fi Sound System. Said to have remained in the personal collection of a California Porsche dealership owner for 27 years, this C2S is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee with approximately 3,600 miles on the odometer.
The C2S featured wide fenders and bumpers from the contemporary 911 Turbo and is distinguished by a model-specific split grille rear decklid. This Coupe is finished in Guards Red and equipped with headlight washers, integrated fog lights, power mirrors, an electric sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, polished dual exhaust tips, and 17” Cup 2 wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The seller notes the decklid struts should be replaced, the Pirelli tires are original, and the stone guards show signs of age, although a set of new stone guards is included in the sale. Detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black leather interior includes optional power-adjustable hardback Sport Seats, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, and matching floor mats with red Porsche logos. Other accessories include automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, a Porsche CDR-210 stereo, and the optional Hi-Fi Sound System.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine is equipped with a VarioRam intake system and the optional Motor Sound Package which adds a revised airbox and mufflers for a more aggressive tone. Up to 282 HP and 250 lb.-ft of torque is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle with an optional limited-slip and automatic braking differential (ABD).
This sale will include an owner’s manual, a remote key fob, a spare tire inflator, service records, and a clean title.

I thought this looked familiar. Remembered it by the 17" wheels.

I am a dealer also, I purchased it back in June of this year. The car runs flawlessly. It does not need anything. No oil leaks etc. The only items you could choose to do are some safety things if you plan on driving it a lot. I assume a museum piece like this will be driven very seldomly which is is why we haven't done anything to it. Again, it runs like a brand new 1998 Porsche 911. I drove the car and posted a video of that. It does not need an engine out service.
@JJensen yes I would also like to know why you're selling it so quickly. And also does it need an engine out service?

hello, why are you selling this car after such a short ownership ? Has the car been inspected and do you have an Inspection Report ? This would go a long way in making me more comfortable in bidding again and purchasing the car, especially if I know what the car needs to bring it up to operating condition. I talked to my mechanic who said that the car needs an engine out service, it could be tens of thousands to update the cars condition.
Hello, we are the third owner, the original owner owned it from new until this year, then it was purchased by a dealer and we bought it from them. Thanks

An issue that was raised on ‘that other site’ was the fact that the car had not had any scheduled maintenance with no fluids or seals being changed/checked. Since last listed for auction, has the car received appropriate mechanical evaluation?

Seller, are you the second owner (from earlier this year) or the third owner?
$227K wasn't enough to get it done with the "other auction platform". This will be interesting to watch!
Gee. … new old stock still exists for these beauties
