A high-performance variant of the W210 E-Class luxury sedan, the Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG came equipped with a hand-built 5.4-liter V8 along with AMG Monoblock wheels, Exclusive AMG leather upholstery, and an AMG-specific body kit. This pre-facelift 1998 example is a European-market car finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over a Black and Emerald leather interior. It was imported to the U.S. from Japan in March 2023 and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York with approximately 56k kilometers (35k miles) on the odometer.
This E55 is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and features an AMG-specific body kit with unique bumpers covers and side skirts. Other equipment includes xenon headlights with washers, front fog lights, a glass sunroof, dual exhaust pipes, and 18” five-spoke AMG Monoblock light alloy wheels. The seller notes all four wheels were professionally refinished and dressed in new tires under their ownership. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this W210 is appointed with Black and Emerald (586) Exclusive AMG leather upholstery complemented by Black Birdseye Maple wood trim. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front sport seats, driver memory settings, a heated rear bench seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a rear sunshade, auto-dimming mirrors, a rain sensor, the Parktronic system, and a sound system. An aftermarket OE-style Continental Bluetooth head unit was installed under the seller's ownership. The seller adds that the two rear window regulators have been disconnected due to a possible fault in the module.
This E55 AMG is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter M113 V8 engine producing 349 HP and 391 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed automatic transmission. Service performed under the seller’s care in 2023 included replacements of the fuel sending unit, evaporator hose, engine oil/filter, air filters, cabin filter, differential fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and a brake system flush.
This sale will include a clean title: "I have been in love with this car since the first time I saw one in 1999! In the US, we only had 1 year of this car before it got a refresh and I find these early cars to be more desirable, especially from a build quality standpoint. To keep this short, this is a stunning example, and the blue seat inserts are to die for. No disappointments with this car, come see it. Happy Bidding!"

@Eurosellinc I have the same question as Shark, below. The Fuel gauge is stuck on E when the car starts. Given the history of fuel tank and evap line and fuel sending unit repairs, any clarity on this would be helpful as it's certainly a core question.
@mikelaca everything is stock on the car except the radio which does support US bands and offers Bluetooth streaming
The tank was flushed cleaned and fuel was treated. The trim on the pillars is signature of the AMG model , is stock and is not carbon fiber but does give the appearance of carbon. Thanks!
And just like that, now my original post has it line by line, LOL, guess the website's AI read my second post, got offended, and fixed it, HAHA. Looks so much better than initially parsed by the site.
@eurosellinc Apparently this website doesn't support formatting (eye roll). I had the questions listed in a nice line by line way when I typed them and submitted. The commenting system here made it look horrible, hopefully you can extract them, apologies (on behalf of the 1990s website programmer apparently).
@Eurosellinc
Is the ride height stock?
Has the suspension been replaced with non stock parts?
Are the wheels genuine AMG MB wheels?
Does the radio support USA Bands (AM/FM)
Do you have the model # of the Continental Radio?
Does the Continental support Sat Radio and-or Bluetooth Audio Streaming?
Is the ‘carbon fiber style trim’ on the B pillar stock?
Are you aware of any ways to change the gauge cluster with one for MPH easily without affecting mileage?
The PPI invoice recommended a new fuel tank due to rust, was that replaced?

@mikelaca 100% factory
Rare option on a w210
Is the parking sensor system original to the car? Has a very aftermarket look with the metal surrounding the led readout. All the MB ones I've seen it was integrated into the wood flush.

@UKCHAP there is a video in the listing. Will try to get an additional one for you however, the car is in storage.
Any chance of a drive video showing instrument cluster and gear changes as well as a Cold Start before I start bidding?
Cheers.

The auction time has been adjusted, thank you.
Love these cars. Just purchased one from California last week with 48K miles 1999 in Silver from PCarMarket.
Maybe having two W210 E55 AMG’s is a good thing.
220 days? Hard to figure out what day to add my calendar reminder. Maybe they can start to post the last day in the future...like 210 days from now. Now that's a long term offer. ;)
220 days remaining!! lol computer glitch . Awesome AMG just bought my first one.
