It is our pleasure to present this rare 1997 Porsche 993 Turbo S finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior with factory Racing Style Sport Seats. The final evolution of the air-cooled 911 Turbo, the 993 Turbo S was offered through Porsche’s Exclusive Department between 1997-1998 with 345 examples built in total, of which only 183 were designated for the U.S. market. The fastest and most luxurious road-going model Porsche had ever produced, the Turbo S differs from its standard counterpart with a unique factory Aerokit, lowered and reinforced suspension, a special performance kit providing increased power, and a beautifully appointed leather-wrapped interior with carbon fiber trim. This particular example, chassis 375758, was originally delivered in Florida before moving with the second owner to Illinois where it received its 6k-mile recommended service in 2004. It would then spend time with its next owners in Ohio, Colorado, and California where it was recently purchased by the seller from a major Porsche collection. Accompanied by owner’s manuals, tools, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a limited-edition set of prints by automotive photographer Larry Chen, this exceptional 1997 Turbo S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing just under 12k miles on the odometer.
This Turbo S is finished in the traditional shade of Guards Red. A comprehensive multi-day professional detail is being carried out in preparation for sale and the seller notes the undertray to have been recently removed for an undercarriage dry-ice treatment which left the original cosmoline coating fully intact. According to the seller, the hood and front fenders were recently repaired by the specialists at European Collectibles in California. Detailed images including an in-depth photoshoot by Larry Chen is provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Distinguishing itself from a standard Turbo model, the Turbo S comes with the Exclusive Aerokit II including modified front and rear spoilers. Additional cooling ducts for the brakes were also integrated into the front bumper along with 959-style air intakes added to both rear quarter panels. Other unique details include titanium rear “Turbo S” script, quad tailpipes, and Speed Yellow painted brake calipers. The 18” hollow-spoke wheels also feature special “Turbo S” script center caps.
Porsche’s Exclusive Department appointed the Turbo S with a special leather-covered interior including carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin. Other interior features include an aluminum shifter and handbrake lever, silver-painted instrument dials, embroidered “Turbo S” script on the rear panel, and yellow seatbelts. This example was also equipped with a steering wheel in leather and carbon fiber, the Digital Sound Package, and painted hardback Racing Style Sport Seats with Porsche crested headrests. Some minor signs of wear are noted on the driver’s seat bolster and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to remain fully functional.
The air-cooled 3.6L twin-turbocharged flat-six engine in the Turbo S received a special performance kit from the Works I Exclusive Department including a pair of larger K24 turbos, a modified engine management system, and an additional oil cooler. For U.S. specification cars, this upgrade provided an output of up to 430 HP which is sent to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The suspension towers were also factory strengthened to withstand the forces generated by the lowered sport suspension. Some service records are provided for reference in the photo gallery and the seller reports the car to have been completely gone through and inspected by Porsche of Woodland Hills earlier in February of 2021. There are no outstanding maintenance items reported at this time.
This sale will include a set of two keys, original owner’s manuals, a toolkit, air compressor, spare tire, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and an assortment of service records. Also included is a limited-edition set of prints (1/3) by Larry Chen consisting of three individual photos making up a full image of the car. The final air-cooled 911 Turbo and one of the rarest Porsche’s ever produced, this 993 Turbo S makes a perfect complement to any world-class car collection

Any holiday bids today?
@DPL thank you for the prompt reply!!
@WheelGenius thank you for the kind words! the accident was very minor/superficial as you can see in the pictures I attached. Also, I’m sure you read all of the comments regarding European Collectibles doing the repairs and doing them to a level 10 out of 10. You’ll be thrilled to have this in your collection. And it also comes with a Larry Chen limited signature print from the Malibu photo shoot. Happy bidding and good luck
@DPL, beautiful representation of the Turbo S (I happen to love Guards Red, was the color of my first 996!). Question about the hood and fenders repair mentioned in the description...? How bad was the damage where the hood and both fenders were affected? Do you have direct information about that incident? Or am I misunderstanding the description regarding the approach to a "factory-correct" repair...? Bidding will be exciting! Thank you. -WG
Who’s going to win the battle? We have a ways to go still. Should make for a fun holiday weekend!

Who ever bids highest will most certainly be the real winner. I witnessed this beautiful 993 Turbo S at the Werks Reunion in Amelia Island last week. It was the only 993 Turbo S at the show and proves this is definitely the perfect Porsche for any collection.
Bid in the amount of $267,654
Simonzar with an early double bid strategy. Can’t wait to see who wins! Good luck everyone
Bid in the amount of $266,000
@rlp84 Interesting. Good call on MJ's having beige interior. Miller Motorcars has another 993 TS for sale that also has Illinois history (also with black interior), I figured one of these had to be MJ's but I guess there are more Guards Red cars out there than I thought!
@ChriS2K I thought the exact same thing, year matches up, even the illinois owner part......but looks like MJ's was a two-tone black on Sand Beige :(
Imagine if it was though and you managed to find the old "AIR" license plate sitting under the seat.......
Absolutely looks spectacular Turbo S. Photos looks very lively ?

I can’t believe there’s been no comments on the Larry Chen shoot or the fact you get limited signed prints of the car from the best car photographer in the world. That’s pretty special
Holy sh*t! The holy grail does exist! Nothing looks better than a guards red 993! Time to cash in my bitcoin! lol
Haha, sorry but those details don’t get disclosed publicly.
Was this Michael Jordan's 993?

We officially have 6 days left everyone. I'm willing to make time for any in person 3rd party inspections, and or personal meetings with the car. I'm in Orlando with the car and we're pretty close to MCO airport (Orl International). Who's going to be the lucky winner?!?!
@Iceman911 absolutely! I'll be sure to upload them when I upload the paint meter readings (tonight or tomorrow). I only have a few as I didn't own the car at that time so please keep that in mind. I uploaded a few pictures of the front seats for everyone last night. I'm still waiting for PCar to place them on the auction.
Yikes !!! 993 TT “ S “ w/ 12 k miles ! ?
Time to take a second mortgage on the home to buy this handsome, BIG dollar, Porsche !
This will be fun to watch
Will you post photos of the damage prior to repair in California? Thank you
Bid in the amount of $159,993
@Deichenb
1. The changer was removed when the Continental head unit was installed due to it having Bluetooth and a USB connection. I chose not to purchase an OEM unit without knowing the preference of the buyer. I’m open to replacing them back to OEM based on buyers desire
2. I also assumed the visors were not OEM as they have lights on them and my other 993 does not have lights.
@Boattail the car had an actual fender bender where the drivers side fender needed to be replaced. It was on the minor side of damage but luckily the previous owner wanted it to continue to be show quality and repaired it the way a car of this stature should be repaired and sent it to a top ranked air cooled Porsche facility (European Collectibles). I purchased the vehicle with confidence based on the end result. I would be more than happy to show you the car or an inspector the car and that’s why I took it to Amelia Island this past week. It stands very tall. Happy bidding sir/mam
Based on your response to artichokes question should we assume the front end repair was related to accident damage?
This is a beautiful car. 2 questions for the seller:
(1) Does the original radio come with the car? Are the 6-CD changer and DSP components intact?
(2) Are the sun visors original to the car? I am not familiar with this style on the 993. Perhaps they were standard on all Turbo S's?
Thank you
#artichoke the driver side fender was replaced by European collectibles based on their air cooled reputation and quality control. The previous owner wanted the paint to match instead of having one fender be blended with the rest (sometimes painting one panel is worse than multiple panels if you’re interested in everything being perfect) They decided to disassemble the front/nose of the car (gaskets, seals, panels etc.) so the texture/finish would all match. European collectibles even paid close attention to the orange peal levels from the factory paint as to make them match. I will meter it early this week to show it’s only the front panels and not the doors or rear of the car. As a 20 year veteran in the car business, I’m very proud of the end result and craftsmanship put forth. Please also understand I don’t hide details when representing a car as my reputation is very important to me and will always answer questions with 100% transparency. The condition of this car leaves it on the top of the podium.
The description has been updated.
Agree with BarryLe, ref condition of front seats. Shocking indeed. Can't find explanation for such condition, except owner/s were extremely overweight, or someone was literally used to sleep in this car, for the love of it :)
GLWB
@DPL Thank you. I love the car!!
@BarryLe that’s not extreme wear for sport seats and it’s the reason why I prefer the standard seats over them, because even though I think the sport seats look better, they wear much poorer and always appear slightly ragged. Personally I’ve seen 5k mile cars that don’t look a lot better than this one
@BarryLe thanks for input. So it actually bothers me that comment was in the listing as the drivers seat doesn’t have excessive wear. The car spent many of its years in storage and it appears the seats were not as conditioned as often as they should have been during its storage so the seats looked “dry” until I simply applied leather conditioner to them. I’ll take some specific shots of the seats to show you the current condition. Some of these pictures were taken prior to the leather conditioner was applied. If you’re ok with waiting until Sunday? I won’t be with the car today unfortunately.
DPL: I will be a bidder for your special Turbo S. Can you explain the extreme wear on the driver’s seat in only 12,000 miles. It takes away from an otherwise gorgeous interior.
Good morning everyone, my name is Drew and I’m the seller of this jaw dropping car. I’m very lucky, and thankful to have this vehicle currently, and equally as excited to represent it on this platform for all of you. It’s currently on display at Amelia Island (Werks Reunion) and will be going back to storage tomorrow. Please stop by if you’re in the area and interested in having an in person look/inspection. I personally don’t believe you’ll find a better represented 993 Turbo S than this one. Please bare with my responses to your questions today as I’m also at Amelia island interacting with everyone and I don’t have access to my phone until I return home tomorrow. I will answer as many as possible with as much respect as possible. Thank you for your interest and happy bidding!
Simply extraordinary! I can only dream of being a buyer for this beauty.
Gorgeous dar! The hood and front fender refinish were just for road wear/dings/scratches, or has there ever been any body damage?
