Finished in Guards Red over a Black partial leather interior, this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera Coupe is factory-equipped with a 6-speed manual transaxle as well as an optional limited-slip differential, Automatic Braking Differential (ABD), 8-way power seats, an onboard computer, and more. It was purchased by the seller in 2021 and subsequently modified with an FD Motorsports RS-style shift rod, a Fabspeed crossover pipe, Fister Stage 2 mufflers, adjustable Bilstein suspension, HID headlamps, a Porsche Classic (PCCM) head unit, black-painted wheels, and custom vinyl stripes. The car’s odometer shows under 44k miles and is said to have stopped working within the last 50 miles. Originally registered in Oregon before moving to Idaho where it remained up until the seller’s purchase about two years ago, this 993 is now being offered for auction out of West Virginia.

This Carrera Coupe is finished in Guards Red with removable black vinyl Porsche side stripes and black-painted 18” 911 Turbo-look wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires from 2021. Equipment includes front fog lights, Euro-spec clear turn signal lenses, headlight washers, dual exhaust outlets, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and black brake calipers with white Porsche lettering. The seller indicates an HID headlight conversion kit has been installed and the front bumper was refinished under prior ownership. A few small nicks and paint chips are depicted in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black partial leather interior includes optional 8-way power-adjustable front seats, custom Coco floor mats, and a modern Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) head unit with navigation and Bluetooth. Other accessories include a four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows and mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, a locking glovebox, and a Rennline magnetic phone holder. The seller notes the odometer recently failed and the car has been driven less than 50 miles since its discovery.

An air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine sends up to 272 HP to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The car was factory equipped with an optional limited-slip differential and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD) and has been further upgraded with an FD Motorsports Golden Rod RS-style shift rod, a Fabspeed exhaust crossover pipe, Fister Stage 2 mufflers, and an adjustable Bilstein suspension. The original mufflers are included in the sale along with an additional set of Fabspeed mufflers.

This sale will include a window sticker, a spare tire, an air pump, original parts that have been removed from the car, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “I’ve had the privilege of ownership since 2021. I’ve made some minor modifications to my preferences, but I’ve kept all the original parts. It runs and sounds like a dream. It’s been in storage and driven sparingly since October 2022.”

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 2 weeksago

@Ridin.Dirty Not only stamped. The solid rims have channels cut in the back of the spokes to save weight, hollow spokes have no channels cut.

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 2 weeksago

Conferred with leinholder. Wire trasfer or bank check sent to them. They send me a check for the remainder minus payoff. Title sent to new owner.

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 2 weeksago

Original cup rims are included along with all other original parts removed from car as listed in the description. Side stripe is removable by steam and patience or by a reputable detailing company. Conferring with leinholder as to best method. Might not have details before auction end.

  • Ridin.Dirty (registered bidder) 11 months, 2 weeksago

How do you know the twist rims are hollow? Hollows would "poke" on a narrow body.

    hollow spoke 993 turbo twist part number is 993 362 140 01
    narrow is 993 362 140 04
    indistinguishable visually.
will be stamped on back of rim

  • Ridin.Dirty (registered bidder) 11 months, 2 weeksago

Hi, are the old cup rims included too?

  • CWSales (registered bidder) 11 months, 2 weeksago

I would like to hear about the lien. also what is involved in removing the
    lettering on the sides?

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 2 weeksago

    @WReiter dm sent

  • WReiter (registered bidder) 11 months, 2 weeksago

What would the transaction procedure be with a lien on the car?

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 2 weeksago

    @WReiter Yes fully functional.

  • WReiter (registered bidder) 11 months, 2 weeksago

    A/C functioning at full strength?

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 2 weeksago

@Roundel1000 Apologies for not including pictures of those. The Bluetooth mic is mounted on the steering column and the usb hub is in the glove box. System works great. CarPlay functions seamlessly.

  • Roundel1000 (registered bidder) 11 months, 2 weeksago

Were the PCCM stereo USB and microphone pieces installed? I could not find a pic of either in the interior shots. The USB allows Car Play to work and the mic allows for hands free calling with the PCCM unit.

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

The rims are hollow spokes. Hard to come by a couple years ago, though I’ve seen them more regularly lately here on PCarmarket as well as BaT. Wheel Enhancement in California refinished them in the matte black and mounted the tires.

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@TubeGuy Zero issues with the clutch. It rained pretty steadily the day we did the video. Can’t really explain the discrepancy in the sound, other than it was taken with a regular phone and no special equipment. The exhaust is not valved, no sport or quiet button. A phone just doesn’t do the exhaust justice though. I’ve owned 5 911s both air and water cooled and this is hands down my favorite exhaust combination.

  • TubeGuy (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

Great car and nice driving video. I wish others were as real. It seemed for a moment at the 20 second mark that the clutch slipped a little. Or maybe not. Can you clarify? Also the sound from the exhaust was a bit louder at first, then dimished. Is there a sport or exhaust valve button?

    Nice car. Really nice.

  • dmcnaughton (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

Is it just me, or maybe the photo, but does the driver's side door look a bit darker than the front driver's fender? Was any part of that side repainted at some point? Passenger side doesn't seem to have the same colour difference. Thx.

@fjinva based on the door opening in the video, it doesn’t sound like the check strap has been corrected. I am also curious to know more. Any idea of repair cost today?

Beautiful 993. Amazon can deliver a paint meter in a day or two and would be well worth the $35 investment. If I was selling I would get one!

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@fjinva Hello, there is a lien. You are right WV roads are nice and twisty but can be rough. I hope to include pics of the underside in the next 2 days to show how nice it truly is. I will also include pics of the check strap. I don’t have leak down or compression numbers. I will also work on a cold start video. Thanks

  • fjinva (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@2fdktr Great looking car, with nice mods. A few questions - Is there a lien on the car? I would need to see paint meter readings and pictures underneath the car. WV has great roads, but can be tough on the undersides. Do you have any leak down or compression numbers? Do all electrical components work properly? Heat, AC, gauges, clock, lights, etc. Can you take a close up of the driver's door check strap? I can't quite see if it has been repaired. A video of a cold start viewing the tailpipes is helpful. TIA I would love to drive this home!

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@Jagged155 You are correct. I unfortunately don’t have service records prior to my purchase. I do have my shop receipts from Sonderworks. As for the headlights, bergvill makes a kit that integrates into the assembly seamlessly. Very simple installation and completely reversible. The ballasts are secured inside the assembly with no change to the wiring harness. Took me about an hour to do the entire headlight and fog light conversion.

  • Jagged155 (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

Could you provide specifics on the HID kit that was installed? Do you have a receipt for services/maintenance performed under your ownership? I’m assuming nothing was transferred to you when you acquired the car?

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

No CEL at all. Carfax as shown in the description above shows approximately 42000 miles at the time of my purchase in March 2021.

  • artichoke (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

Any issues with the check engine light related to vent tubes clogging, a chronic issue for 96-98 993's that have been puttering around! How can you verify the odometer reading is reasonably accurate and that it failed recently and not 20 years ago???

  • Jagged155 11 months, 3 weeksago

Bid in the amount of $25,000

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@Wcl4 I do not have paint meter readings unfortunately. There are Zero mechanical issues or oil leaks. I also don’t have access to a lift at this time. It’s had no repairs to my knowledge or during my ownership. The a/c was charged at Sonderworks in Charlotte while the suspension, exhaust, and radio were being installed. Thanks

  • 2fdktr (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@acr89 That’s a valid question. I only discovered the odometer issue after starting the process of posting the car. I reached out to 2 speedometer repair shops, and the wait time is about a month. I made the decision to post the car TMU, realizing to some buyers it is not a big deal, and to some it is. If the car doesn’t make reserve, I will make it right. Thanks!

  • Wcl4 (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

Any paintwork or paint meter readings? Mechanical records? Oil leaks? A/C blow cold? Videos?

  • acr89 (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

Nice car, GLWTA, don’t see many with the on board computer. Why not just get the odo fixed prior to auction though so it isn’t labeled TMU???
