One of the rarest versions of the final air-cooled Porsche 911, the 993-generation Carrera Targa was the first of its kind to feature a sliding glass roof system. This 1996 example is finished in Black over a matching leather interior and pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.6-liter flat-six engine. It features 17” Targa-specific wheels, power-adjustable seats, an aluminum-accented Carrera S shift knob and brand handle, automatic climate control, and a Clarion head unit with upgraded speakers and an amplifier. It was purchased by the seller, its second owner, in 2004 and recently treated to a 60k-mile service. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this 993 Carrera Targa is being offered for auction out of Texas with approximately 54k miles showing on the odometer.
The 993 Targa model features a unique sliding glass roof system with an electric roller sunshade and a glass wind deflector strip. This example is finished in Black and rides on factory 17” Targa two-piece alloy wheels. Equipment includes headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, a speed-activated rear spoiler, a raised “basket handle” brake light spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, and black Porsche-branded brake calipers. The seller indicates new tires were installed within the last 500 miles and some imperfections can be seen on the wheels and front end. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black leather interior features power-adjustable front seats, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, a central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an aluminum-trimmed shift knob and parking brake handle sourced from a Carrera S. Rubber floor mats have been added and an aftermarket Clarion head unit has been installed and paired with upgraded speakers and a Lanzar Optidrive amplifier. All gauges and electronics are said to be working properly.
An air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine provides up to 282 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller indicates the clutch has been replaced and a 60k-mile service was completed approximately 500 miles ago.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, service records, two sets of keys, and a clean title.

Top invoices notes noise with the retracting glass and sunshield. Only an adjustment can be seen. Was this noise and rail issue addressed? Thank you,
Seems like you’re chasing numbers at this point. Why not take the $110k offer? I’m pretty sure I saw your dealtank price was lowered to $100k before you offered it’s again as an auction.
@Hnguyen7986 car has an outstanding bid of 110k anytime this seller wishes!
@Mirage08 a/c has just been recharged first time in 17 yrs. I just wanted to make the car perfect!
Bid in the amount of $44,444
Bid in the amount of $33,993
A similar Targa just sold for $98k on this site. This car has lower mileage and is 2 years newer, so I can't see this one selling for less than $100K.
Car hasn't seem to hit sellers $100k mark which is why it hasnt sold. Max bid is around $80k on multiple bidding sites. Maybe the market has spoken on what this car is worth.
How's the AC? How often does it need a recharge?
Bid in the amount of $33,000
