This 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo comes finished in Black Metallic and was subject to a full Gemballa "Turbo S Conversion" under previous ownership in 1999. The supporting invoice from Gemballa North America shows over $35k invested including carbon fiber trim pieces, a larger intercooler, and upgraded turbochargers for a claimed output of 540 HP. The car also underwent extensive refurbishment over the past several years including new paint, interior upholstery, and a major service with an upgraded Brembo big brake kit. Acquired by the seller out of a large private Porsche collection, this modified 993 is now being offered for auction out of Oklahoma showing just over 75k miles on the odometer.

The Gemballa Turbo S conversion included custom vented side skirts as well as a Turbo S style front spoiler, rear wing, and fenders with integrated air scoops. This example is said to have undergone a glass-out repaint in Black Metallic while under previous ownership in 2018 and rides on a set of 18” Gemballa multi-piece wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2017. Minimal rock chips are noted, and the front end is preserved under a layer of clear paint protection film. The CARFAX report shows minor damage to have occurred in 2020 as well as an accident in 2007 that is said to have caused damage to the headlight and front bumper only.

Inside, the Classic Grey interior has been customized with extensive carbon fiber trim pieces including Gemballa-branded door panel inserts. Factory equipment includes stainless steel door entry guards, aluminum-look instrument dials, power windows and mirrors, a sliding sunroof, electrically adjustable seats, and a sound system that has been upgraded with a Porsche Classic radio (PCCM). An aftermarket GReddy electronic boost controller has been fitted as well. The seller notes the cabin was refurbished under previous ownership in 2018 by Kirk's Kar Upholstery in Fresno, California.

The twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine was factory rated at 408 HP and has been modified via Gemballa with a larger intercooler and upgraded Extremo turbochargers for a claimed output of 540 HP.  All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission and the car rides on an upgraded Gemballa sport suspension while stopping power comes from a newly installed Brembo big brake kit. A service completed at the time of the brake kit install included rebuilt axles, new rear toe links, a selector shaft seal, sunroof seal, four-wheel-alignment, and an oil and filter change. A corresponding invoice is provided in the gallery along with engine compression test results.

This sale will include a clean title and some records.

@bergx7 Please note what was a leak towards front of car. The axle boot ends were leaking and have since been replaced by Planet 911 in Edmond, OK. I believe that receipt is in the gallery but if not, I’ll source it.

@bergx7 Yes, all is well! I don't drive that road often so was suprised at the harsh bump... Underside pics coming now!

  • bergx7 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@bergx7 Referring to the 51 second mark in the driving video by the way. Regardless, the photos will tell the tale so hope we get those soon. Thank you.

Thanks for the video and look forward to the underbody shots. It sounded in the video like maybe the front end grounded out on a bump so hope the bumper and front tub are ok? That thing clearly gets up to speed quickly.

Goodness… driving this car again this morning. It is so so dialed in guys. The new owner WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Transmission is buttery smooth, the turbo noises are endless, and it’s legitimately FAST even by todays standards! It really does need nothing.

  • anelson (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@bergx7 cold start video has been submitted. Along with some in car driving video and a few drive by’s. Hopefully Pcar is able to load those up today or first thing in the AM. Will get car on lift early AM tomorrow as well!

@bergx7 absolutely. I was planning on getting underbody shots and the auction snuck up on me! Hoping to get those first thing Monday morning when I’m back in town (on vacation for spring break.

I can get someone to do cold start tomorrow evening most likely

I have some drive around video but the sound is terrible with the microphone we used. Will reshoot that Sunday when I fly back in.

    Zero smoke!

    Zero oil consumption!

The car really and truly needs nothing. This car was gone through front to back by previous owner. It’s as dialed in if a 993 as I’ve come across. And I’ve had at least half a dozen of them including a RUF. This car is ready to enjoy!

  • bergx7 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

Beautiful car. A few items would be helpful:

    1. Underbody photos - is it dry underneath?
    2. Cold start video
    3. Driving video with the car warm and accelerating through the gears

    Other questions:
    4. Any smoke on startup or under throttle?
    5. Any oil consumption?
    6. Anything the car needs repaired or maintained in the near term?

@porschepaddy Since the body shop owned it, that’s why I assume there’s no receipt for the work since they didn’t have a need to submit to a client. I’ll double check to make sure I don’t have one.

  • anelson (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @porschepaddy from previous owner…

In around 2018 the owners of Diamond Auto Body in Fresno California bought the car.  They began a complete restoration.  This includes interior work at Kirk’s Kar Upholstery in Fresno, and a glass out re-spray to the factory color of black metallic.  The interior and paintwork on this car is amazing.   Truly gorgeous work.

I posted a wanted advertisement on Rennlist in 2021 for a modified 993 turbo.  Sean LaBonte, manager of Porsche Fresno reached out about this car, which they maintained.  He said it was an incredible car and owned by a good friend of the owner of Porsche Fresno and passed me the info.  I purchased it in Feb of 2022 from Diamond Auto Body.  At some point during Diamond Auto Bodies ownership they replaced a windshield which resulted in a Minor Damage reported to Carfax.   Carfax has zero information on this report.  I exhausted my dealer resources to lean on Carfax to provide details and they said they had no info on the entry other then it was minor and non-accident.

@38ZFX paint quality is top tier for sure!

And yes, that is correct. It was changed to Jer Black in 1999 when it underwent the modifications. And then changed back to original oem Black Metallica’s the most recent paint. It was a full glass out paint job and it looks incredible!

  • 38ZFX (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@anelson Can you clarify on repaint? Invoice in 1999 says change color to Jet Black and description say Black metallic? How is the paint quality?

  • anelson (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@BZL_Porsche I do have an incident report from one of the accidents. I thought it was uploaded but can’t seem to find it. I’ll get to work on that.
