Representing the second-generation Dodge Viper (SR II), this 1996 RT/10 Roadster is powered by a naturally aspirated 8.0-liter V10 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. This example is finished in Viper Black Clear Coat with silver racing stripes. Sold new in California and registered on the West Coast until 2021, this Viper is now being offered for auction out of Virginia while showing just over 14k miles on the odometer.
The second-generation Viper features molded fiberglass bodywork mounted to a tubular steel frame and includes a clamshell hood, integrated fog lights, a removable soft top and side curtains, and dual center-mounted tailpipes. This example is finished in Viper Black Clear Coat with double silver racing stripes. It rides on factory 17” alloy wheels with Viper-logo center caps and 2021 Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Noted imperfections include swirl marks in the paint, some scratches and chips around the exterior, and minor scratches on one wheel.
The cabin is appointed with black leather upholstery and matching carpets. Accessories include adjustable bucket seats, a leather three-spoke steering wheel, a leather gear knob and parking brake handle, white instrument dials, Viper-branded floor mats, air-conditioning, a cassette stereo, and a 6-speaker sound system. Some signs of wear are present on the seats.
Designed in collaboration with Lamborghini, the Viper’s aluminum-alloy 8.0-liter V10 engine delivers up to 415 HP and 488 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at each corner with 4-piston front calipers. The CARFAX report shows 6 service history records.
This sale will include a soft top and side curtains with storage bags and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: "This early Viper is a classic and iconic piece of American automotive history. It's an absolute raw experience to drive this Viper. Great eye appeal in the color combination of black with silver stripes."

@gsdb2018 - some great stuff for sure. Anything that I can help you move? That's what I do by the way.
@RonSusser I have too many. 2012 Virage, 1979 308GTS, 1997 Defender 90, 2000 Saab 9-3, 2003 Discovery II Longitude Expedition. Only thing I have American is my daily driver a Jeep, lol.
@gsdb2018 - 2003 Esprit is a great car. What else do you have?
@RonSusser I mean cars like these are usually cared for. But to give you an example. I recently had the transmission fluid flushed and replaced on my 2003 Esprit and the fluid that came out was disgusting. It was most likely original . So it is just a matter of catching up on things when I buy cars like this cause who knows when it was last done or ever done. Thanks!
@gsdb2018 - quote that I got from a shipper that I use all the time:
$800 outside shipping
$1100 enclosed shipping
Not sure how that compares to your quote but hopefully, saves you a bit of money.
@gsdb2018 - I agree on the service records - unfortunately, when people buy from dealers, the service records usually do not convey. Very sad - buy from a private party and the service records go to the new buyer. I'll be glad to get you an enclosed shipping quote.
@RonSusser 12804 is my zip. Upstate NY. Thanks!
@gsdb2018 - no service records unfortunately. Carfax shows some vague servicing over the years.
@gsdb2018 - I understand completely - maybe pcar will cut you a break on fees (I'll ask them). Best I can do is very close to $40,000. Where are you located? Maybe I can help with shipping.
With PCAR fees and shipping that’s the best I can do. Do you have any service records?

@mx4 - I understand - thanks. Go to $40k and we're good.
@RonSusser I meant no disrespect, I just meant that this very nice car will show a lot better with the paint and interior restaurantion. I like the car love color and gray stripes.
@mx4 - thanks for your deal tank offer. I don't think that desperate is the right term at all. A professional paint correction for $500 would do wonders for the exterior and the interior is really very nice and not desperate at all.
car looks great for it age, but it is in desperate need of paint and interior restoration.
