A premium version of the 993-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 4, the 4S pairs a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine with the widened bodyshell of the 911 Turbo. This 1995 example is one of approximately 5 pre-production models developed for promotional duties. The car was configured for the European market (RoW) and finished in Black over Chestnut leather upholstery. It comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, 18” Turbo Twist wheels, heated and power-adjustable seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, a power sunroof, and a Becker-Porsche stereo. The car spent time in Japan before returning to Germany in 2016 and was imported to the U.S. in 2022 when it was purchased by the seller. This 993 underwent significant service since the seller’s acquisition including new control arm bushings, front brakes, brake hoses, ignition components, drive belts, a valve cover gasket, a front oil cooler, engine insulation, and more. Showing approximately 62k kilometers or 40k miles on the odometer, this early 993 Carrera 4S is now being offered for auction out of California.
The Carrera 4S is sought-after for its wide bodywork and bumpers shared with the contemporary 911 Turbo. This example is finished in Black and equipped with headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, Euro-spec side market lights, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, dual exhaust outlets, red brake calipers, and 18” Turbo Twist wheels with colored Porsche-crest center caps. The OEM Euro-spec front bumper was replaced under current ownership. The seller notes some swirls in the paint and several small rock chips on the lower rear bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage in 2023.
The cabin is appointed with Chestnut leather upholstery and matching carpets with contrasting black floor mats and a black four-spoke leather steering wheel. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front seats, an aftermarket shift knob, automatic climate control, cruise control, a Quarz clock, a locking glovebox, and a Becker-Porsche stereo.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 282 HP and 250 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle. Performance features include an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), a multi-link rear suspension, and cross-drilled disc brakes. Since the seller’s purchase in January 2022, the car underwent the following services:
This sale will include a spare tire, a tire inflator, a car cover, a battery trickle charger, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This 993 has been taken care of meticulously since in my ownership, garage kept only, covered in the garage as well, never driven in the rain. Driven at least once a week.”

I’m assuming with all the high meter readings many panels on this car have been repainted???

I bought the car in February 2023. All the work done was done under my ownership.
What receipts does it say 2022? The file named work and Maintenance says 2023 as well.
The only documents I have that would state the miles is the ones pictured from the importing process.
@bergx7 Never mind on #1 the prior shop and your shop have the same looking logos on the receipt but I see they are different.
Let us know on #2 (mileage) as it presents as a much higher mile car despite the odometer.
Ah man! I bought a 993 C4S in 2016 that didn’t have the wire harness recall done (as seen on Carfax) I called PCNA and they said any dealer would replace it free of cost and they did. Sorry you paid to have it done! But at least it’s done…
A few other questions:
1. When did you buy the car? The auction from bat was in 2023 and all the receipts are from 2022? Did you do the work under your ownership or was that prior owner?
2. Have you seen any documentation supporting the reported miles on the car given no carfax history before 2022?

Yes it has the row gear box that’s a shorter gear ratio.
Does this 4S have the shorter gear ratios of the G50-20-02? Or is that just on the early ROW C2 models? If so I would think it could be an important point of differentiation. Not a fan of how high our US spec 993 is geared.
@sonnypatel correction I just had my colleague check it and it is a odb2. Sorry for the mix up.
@sonnypatel. Sorry must of overlooked your comment. It is Obd1

Is this a OBD2 or OBD1 car? I asked previously and would like to bid
@bergx7 Updated paint meter readings have just been uploaded. As to the eye in the sun, you visually do not see any orange peel or waviness.

Sorry if I missed this but are you able to get paint meter readings? Given the full prior repaint, any orange peel or waviness in the sun?
No problem. Yea I try to be as transparent as I can. Main reasons that this specific 993 that attracted me was that it was a pre production, low mileage example and the interior/ exterior color combo really caught my eye. I went into buying it knowing that there was possibly some mechanical issues I had to address. Luckily I was referred to one of the best Porsche mechanics there is. Yan Frich over at VNS motors did everything mechanically to this 993 and if you’re not familiar with him, I encourage you to do a little research. He has maintained and serviced a Chunk of Jerry Seinfeild’s collection and is Porsche of Beverly Hills exclusive classic service department(they don’t have an official inhouse classic department) so I, with great confident, can stand by all the work and maintenance that’s been done. Yes it does need a little cosmetic TLC and I would have eventually gotten around to it but I was just enjoying driving it so much that it never bothered me. If it was up to me I would not get rid of it but things in life change sometimes and you have to prioritize other things. I assure that the next owner will be very happy with the mechanical state that it is in. Good luck!
@Winston17 thank you, I think your auction is much more transparent which I appreciate. It looks like a mechanically sorted car that just needs a little TLC inside (or just drive and enjoy as is). I look forward to participating here.
No it didn’t need replacement. I initially wanted to get that replaced and also added a Porsche classic radio but prioritize the mechanical work first and the mechanical work took about 3 months to complete so I was anxious to drive it and get it back so I never got around to the roof seal and radio but there’s no leaks and the the current seals are fine.
Also I see in service that the sunroof seal needed replacement but wasn’t approved. Did that end up getting done?
The Interior is the exact same as when I purchased it. The last auction used filters. I wanted to do the best at showing the true condition it’s in. It has not spent one day in the sun. Been garaged and even car covered in the garage since my ownership. Garage also climate controlled as well. The door check strap functions properly, does not move at all. No issues .
Interior looks a bit rough compared to prior auction. Was that just the photo filters they used or has the car spent some time in the sun?
Also the drivers door check strap appears to have been incorrectly repaired and it is now rusting. Does the check strap mount move at all when you open the door? That will be a project for the next owner as the material that was jammed in there will be hard to clean up and get back to factory appearance.

@seller can you please post pictures of paint meter readings of the whole car? thank you
Interesting. Had a ‘97C4S. Incredible car. Liked it better than our ‘96TT.
I wouldn’t shy away from the bogus Carfax report. They can be so horribly wrong and are horrible to deal with. I don’t even know why P-car or BaT or anybody else for that matter puts any credence at all in their BS reports. Yes, I had a piss poor experience with them after they flagged an accident on a Mercedes that I purchased, oh, with a clean Carfax, and said the accident happened six years prior to my ownership and they just caught up with it. Trying to get it removed is impossible.

Selling because I recently relocated to New York and don’t have the space for it anymore. I enjoyed it while I had it but it’s time for it to go on to its next owner. As far as for the “damage” report, it’s the first time I’m actually seeing it myself . I paid cash for all the services, maintenance and bumper replacement so I am looking into that “damage” report as well. Will update asap. I can assure that this car was not actually damaged at all in my possession.
@Winston17 seemed like you were excited to purchase the car on BaT—why the sale? Also, the June “damage” on Carfax: was this the bumper repair you did? Did you make an insurance claim to do the work?
I registered it in Montana as soon as I acquired it because I have other vehicles registered in Montana as well so it made it easier for me. According to the original BAT listing, it states that it has not passed California emissions.
hi, can this car be registered in cali with ROW status? aren't smog tests a problem? i ask because i am going through this process soon and see the montana plate, curious, and thanks,

Hi All, welcome to this auction. I will do my best to answer any questions. As far as accidents, there hasn’t been any to my knowledge or reported on the Carfax. When I bought it off of BAT in early 2022 the bottom of the front bumper was damaged so I decided to replace it. During the same time I wanted to get everything done mechanically that it needed to be in tip top shape. You can find all the service and work that’s been done in the work and maintenance file that’s attached. I believe it was delivered new in Germany and later being imported to Japan. Hope this helps. I included all the imported documents I received from previous owner as well. Glwta

Also can you please confirm what service history the car has, and was the car delievred new to Germany before travelling to Japan and then back to the EU and then on to the US?
