Configured for the Japanese market, this 1995 BMW E36 M3 Coupe features a more powerful 3.0-liter S50B30 inline-six than its North American-spec counterparts. The car is finished in Avus Blue Metallic over a black interior featuring manually adjustable Anthracite fabric Vader sports seats with M Rain inserts. It comes equipped without a sunroof and includes a 5-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, Euro-spec glass headlights, air conditioning, power windows, a central locking system, an onboard computer, and 17” Style 39 wheels. Imported from Japan to the U.S. by the selling dealer in April 2024, this M3 is now being offered for auction out of Virginia with just over 99k kilometers or approximately 62k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to a standard E36 3-Series model, the M3 version is distinguished by unique bumpers, a front spoiler, side skirts, aerodynamic mirrors, and body moldings with integrated M3 badges. This slicktop Coupe is finished in Avus Blue Metallic and features Euro-spec glass headlamps, front fog lights, power mirrors, pop-out rear quarter windows, a dual-tipped exhaust outlet, and silver 17” style 39 wheels dressed in new Petlas tires. The seller notes the hood was previously refinished and a small chip on it has been filled with touch-up paint. A minor scuff is on the rear bumper, a small ding is below the passenger-side taillight, and some scuffs are on the underside of the front bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black interior features manually adjustable Anthracite fabric Vader front sports seats with M Rain cloth inserts and matching rear seats. Accessories include a four-spoke leather steering wheel, an M sport shift knob, M3-branded door sills, power windows, a central locking system, an onboard computer, and an aftermarket DVD stereo with a navigation screen. A third-party inspection shows all gauges and accessories are working properly.
Equipped with individual throttle bodies, the naturally aspirated 3.0-liter S50B30 inline-six engine was factory-rated at 282 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque, an increase of 42 HP compared to U.S. spec motors. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes an oil change was recently completed, and a third-party inspection is provided for reference in the gallery.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a first aid kit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “A Japanese spec M3 that is so fun to drive!”

@blackdogcars You are right. Sorry I missed that. It is about a half inch scrape in the quarter panel. I uploaded a closer picture of it for you.

@Wolf13_1977 - love the spec on this one. Would you be able to post a few close-up photos of the rear passenger side quarter panel please. In particular the leading painted edge close to the tire. Looked like some paint might be missing in a spot there.

any paintwork other than the hood and touchup mentioned above?...paint meter readings would be great -- would have thought they'd be part of the third party "inspection"

@Russell41 unfortunately we do not have any service records from when the car was in Japan. Since we have had the car we did an oil change on it and replaced the tires. I will do my best to get those pictures for you but my picture guy will not be back in until Monday. Hopefully I can see if he can get those pictures quickly.
Sorry about the incomplete sentence. I was going to ask for pictures of all the suspension bushings and engine mounts.
Do you have any service records? E36's of this mileage typically need a lot of preventative maintenance. I believe these have reinforced plates for the rear subframe but could you take a closer picture of where it bolts up to the chassis? Pictures of the Are there any sticky buttons? Does the car smell like it's been smoked in?
