This 1994 Porsche 968 Coupe was modified for track use under previous ownership including the installation of a full roll cage, an OMP racing seat, fire suppression system, upgraded suspension, larger Brembo brakes, and dual fender-mounted oil coolers. It was purchased by the seller in October 2020 and has been a competitive vintage racer in the VARAC series, winning the 2021 VARAC Driver’s Challenger Championship in Classic 2. Originally registered in New Jersey, this U.S.-spec 968 race car is now being offered for auction out of Canada with under 86k miles showing on the odometer.

This 968 wears removable blue and white vinyl wrap over its factory dark blue paint. Modifications include front and rear tow hooks, a front chin spoiler, and a new front bumper with headlight and turn signal deletes. The car rides on factory 16” Design 90 alloy wheels. The seller adds that this sale will include one set of wheels with mounted rain tires, and two sets of unmounted OEM rims which have been powder-coated in blue.

The cabin has been stripped out and fitted with a complete roll cage including NASCAR-style door bars. Other accessories include an OMP racing seat, a Sabelt safety harness, quick-release window netting, a detachable three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, a custom central switch panel, and a new fire suppression system.

Originally rated at 236 HP and 225 lb.-ft of torque, the 3.0-liter DOHC inline-four engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle. The car has been modified with dual front-mounted oil coolers, a new free-flowing muffler, Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, monoball strut mounts, adjustable sway bars, custom A-arms with replaceable ball joints, a front strut tower brace, and larger Brembo brakes. The seller adds that a new Odyssey battery has been installed.

This race car is offered with a clean New Jersey title, a bill of sale, one set of wheels with mounted rain tires, and two sets of unmounted OEM rims which have been powder-coated in blue.

I did reach out to Canada Cars direct as a Brooker and they told me that was something they couldnt handle with it being a Race Car. it seems like since it is a US Car that it would be easier. I do know that the easiest way is for you to bring it to the US and me pick it up. it technically doesnt need an EPA waiver or to even be imported as you can bring it over any time.

Hi, What would the process for getting this back into the UIS look like and any idea on the cost? I love these cars, but have to consider everything in getting it back to the SE US. Thanks and I will make a better offer once answered.

Current weight of the car is approximately 2550lbs

  • DrFranz (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

@MTA_porsche I was wondering about that, what does it weigh?

  • MTA_porsche (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

Yes - it should be able to be classed in PCA racing however weight would most likely need to be added.

  • letsrenn (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

can it be classed in PCA racing?

  • MTA_porsche (seller) 1 week, 5 daysago

The car is classified to run on the G90 Classics grid in VARAC. Similar prepared cars have run in SVRA.

Clean looking race car with a lot of good prep. I raced 944SuperCup for a few years and I like this one. I'm tempted to come back! Has this car been classified or is it just a track car for now?
