The 964 RS America was developed exclusively for the U.S. market, satisfying demands for a lightweight performance-focused 911 variant like the European-spec Carrera RS. It was stripped of several heavy accessories and features a spartan interior with cloth Sport Seats, the M030 Sport Suspension package, a whale tail rear spoiler, and 17” Cup wheels. This 1994 Porsche RS America is one of 701 examples produced in total and is finished in rare Midnight Blue Metallic paint over a black interior with optional blue seatbelts, air conditioning, and an electric sunroof. It was purchased by the current owner out of California in 2016 and imported to Lithuania where it was kept as part of a private Porsche RS collection. Accompanied by original owner’s manuals, a window sticker, service records, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this RS America is now being offered for auction out of Germany with approximately 56k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to a contemporary 964 Carrera 2 Coupe, the RS America features a distinctive whale tail rear spoiler, RS designations on the rear quarter panels, and 17” Cup wheels measuring 7” wide in front and 9” wide at the rear. To save weight, it came without power mirrors or a rear window wiper. This example is factory-finished in premium Midnight Blue Metallic and equipped with an optional electric sunroof. The seller notes the original paint remains in good overall condition apart from minor stone chips on the hood. The Michelin tires are over 10 years old and may be due for replacement. The RS America’s interior features cloth-covered Sport Seats, lightweight carpeting, and flat door panels with cloth pull straps from the Carrera RS This example is equipped with optional blue seatbelts, door pulls, an air conditioning system, and a Porsche Classic (PCCM) stereo. Other accessories include a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, electric front seat height adjustment, power windows, a central locking system, fold-down rear seats, and Porsche-branded carpet floor mats.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine delivers up to 247 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. In contrast to a standard Carrera 2, the RS America comes with unassisted rack-and-pinion steering and the M030 Sport Suspension package which includes shorter springs, stiffer dampers, and a thicker front stabilizer bar. The seller notes the car has been driven approximately 4k miles since the current owner’s purchase in 2016 and was maintained by an authorized Porsche dealership in Lithuania. Service items included replacing the underbody panels, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, spark plugs, and oil and filter changes.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a tire inflator, service records, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.
