Based on the Carrera Cup race car, the Porsche 964 Carrera RS was a lightweight performance-focused 911 offered exclusively in the European market. The car came without power accessories, air conditioning, rear seats, or a sunroof and featured a special seam-welded chassis, magnesium wheels, a close-ratio gearbox, and a specially tuned engine producing up to 260 HP. This Maritime Blue 1992 example was sold new from the Ulm Porsche dealership in Germany and remained with its original owner in its home country before moving to France in 2003. The car was sold to its third and most recent owner in 2012 and received an engine rebuild in 2015 as well as restoration of the original magnesium wheels. One of the most sought-after and collectible air-cooled 911s of all, this Carrera RS is now being offered for auction out of France showing approximately 59k kilometers or 36k miles on the odometer.
The rigid seam-welded body of the Carrera RS incorporates thinner glass windows, an aluminum lid, and a lightweight rear bumper design as well as integrated brake cooling ducts instead of front fog lights. This example is finished in Maritime Blue, a rare and coveted nonmetallic shade closely associated with the RS model. Removable silver graphics have been added to the sides and the original magnesium 17” Cup wheels are said to have been restored in 2016. The rear passenger quarter panel is said to have been previously refinished following a minor accident and paint meter readings are provided in the gallery along with a corresponding repair invoice.
The lightweight cockpit of the Carrera RS is devoid of sound-deadening material, rear seats, power accessories, air conditioning, a radio, or a sunroof and features basic door panels with Maritime Blue pull straps. The RS also features lightweight carpeting and a pair of racing-style bucket seats with blue multicolor leather inserts, painted backings, and matching seatbelts. A color-matched bolt-in roll cage has been installed along with a blue Schroth safety harness and a fire extinguisher mounted below the passenger seat.
The Carrera RS utilizes an upgraded version of the 964’s 3.6-liter M64 engine featuring hand-selected pistons and cylinders, solid rubber mounts, a lightweight singles mass flywheel, and revised ECU programming. Up to 260 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a close-ratio 5-speed G50 manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The RS derives its front brakes from the 911 Turbo and includes a lowered suspension with stiffer rate springs, Bilstein dampers, and adjustable anti-roll bars at the front and rear. The seller notes routine maintenance has been observed and the engine was rebuilt in 2015 at 57,130 km. Images of the undercarriage and drivetrain case stamping can be found in the gallery.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals and a clean title.

Sold for $235,000
$235,000 offer from unknown location
@Porsche911channel Hi, Just to let you know, the third and last owner when he bought the car brought the car for an oil service and they have found a little bit of metal on the drain plug magnet so they decided to investigate further, it was not a big deal but the owner decided to ask the second hand to pay for the repair which was done, so the car has been driven very little since then and the engine is completely safe.

What soybeans the approximate cost of shipping the car to Montreal Canada please?
Thank you in advance for getting back to me.
What is the downside of removing the roll cage please?
When was the Engine rebuilt? It shows the last service was in 2015 at 57 km. The car has only been driven 2 KM since the last 8 years? You also mentioned that the car has been only driven 2K since engine rebuild. Is that the 2k that happened in the last 8 years. Was the engine broken in prior to that or is that the same 2 k? Was the car mainly stored during this time? It’s a beautiful car, just trying to understand the most recent history. I am very much interested in it if I can have a clearer picture from the time of the rebuild. Thank you!
@TheMacDaddy Yes of course, it will take about half an hour with heat and then a small polishing.
@TheMacDaddy What is interesting is that all RS sold in France came with those stickers. It was a request from the official importer Sonauto

@garrege No, only the right rear wing, nothing major, it has been controlled buy Porsche with specific tools, all good.
Was the car rear-ended?
@MANDREWS Hi, I have been adding to the photo gallery a picture of an attestation for the magnesium wheels, they still original to the car and fitted, they have been restored a couple of times and the marking is now faded.
We also have the engine rebuilt receipt in file, has they found during a service a very small amount of grinder metal on the oil drink oil magnet they decided to investigate further and then rebuilt the engine for safety, it has been rebuilt at 57130 km so less than 2000 km ago.
@garrege Yes the engine lid, bumper and the rear wings has been resprayed to match perfectly.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Agree. The wheels are missing the mag markings. Part numbers would be on the inside of the wheel. Or, I have the exact same wheel/tire combo. Weights for the mag version with those tires is 44.4lbs rear 41.2 front. Aluminum alternatives are significantly higher.
While paint meter shows paint work in multiple places, I have a maritime RS. The primer is white. So if the car has any miles, it rock chips horribly. So to me, paint work is not a big deal if there wasn’t accident damage. Additionally, the underside of this car looks pretty clean. Jack points look good. Bolts don’t appear rusty. Front trunk pan looks straight. All good signs for a car that wouldn’t have hidden rust or wear issues. Kind of strange for an engine rebuild to be required at this mileage. But it looks to have been a track car, so who knows what happened.
Does the seller have receipts for the engine rebuild?
Looks like a solid driver. I love mine. And importing to the US is pretty simple now for these cars…
@Clayman I am pretty sure the 6.1% duty tax applies to vehicle younger than 25 years old so this one should be exempted.
@ seller, are you sure those are the original magnesium wheels? There are no tags on the wheels, it seems to be regular cup 1 wheels but not the RS wheels.
The description says the passenger quarter was involved in an accident but the paint meter readings indicate the driver quarter and passenger fender have had paint work; can you confirm?

@Analog_911 The cage can be removed easily, I am 1,85 m and I feel confortable driving nothing on my way
Doesn't part of the blue cage get in the way of the driver's knees when shifting?
Is that part of the cage really necessary?
@ClayMan Must be 6,1% of taxes based on the car value, then shipping and documentation, for that I have to ask for a quote but must be around 5K$ with insurance
Any idea how much I should budget for shipping, local taxes / VAT (if applicable) and fees to export this to Ontario, Canada?
For the interested parties I can organize shipping anywhere in the world.
@550bryan Got offered above 200 k€ and could have sold it but I think than this rare car in that color deserve better.
So the question is, will this beauty crack $200K? It has been listed on Elfsport but has been taken down. Forget whether it listed an asking price, but big $$$$ here no doubt.
