Available for auction is this 1991 Acura NSX finished in Formula Red over a Black leather interior. One of the most groundbreaking sports cars of its era, the original NSX was designed and hand constructed at the Honda Global Research and Development Center in Tochigi, Japan. This 1991 example recently underwent over $40k worth of mechanical restoration including an engine-out service along with upgraded coilovers and exhaust. In addition, the cabin was refreshed with new leather upholstery and carpets while the exterior was recently treated to paint correction and ceramic coating. This NSX is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California showing approximately 63k miles on the odometer.

This NSX was ordered in Formula Red with a black roof and features pop-up headlights, integrated foglights, side air intakes, and a distinctive rear spoiler. Recent refurbishment includes a full paint correction, ceramic coating, and black-painted windshield wipers. The car has also been fitted with a new set of staggered 17”/18” Enkei PF01 wheels dressed in Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08 R tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin has been refreshed with new black leather seat upholstery, matching carpets, and sun visors. Factory features include an Acura-Bose sound system, serialized NSX-logo sill plates, 4-way power seats, window defoggers, power door mirrors, cruise control, and a theft-deterrent system. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to be working properly.

This NA1 NSX produces up to 270 HP and 210 lb-ft of torque from its transverse-mounted 3.0L V6, featuring VTEC variable valve timing and titanium connecting rods. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. This example recently underwent a major mechanical restoration including an engine-out service, re-honed cylinders, new timing belts, a new clutch, all new rubber/hoses, a complete transmission service, rebuilt suspension with KW coilovers, aftermarket headers, and an aftermarket exhaust system. The work was carried out by Auto Wave of Huntington Beach, CA, a well-respected NSX specialist with over 20 years of experience. The original exhaust parts are included and the car is said to have been driven less than 1k miles since the mechanical work was completed.

This sale will include a clean title.

@Magicalmachine thanks for the questions. The original wheels are included with the sale. As for your question regarding the transmission. The entire transmission was rebuilt but prior to that it was not in the snap ring range. You can see that work in the transmission rebuild invoice. We are representing our customer as the selling dealer.

@exclusivemotorcars, are the original wheels included? was the original trans fall in the snap ring range? is this a dealer sell or private party?

@UpNorthMN Thanks for the question. The ground clearance is approximately 5 inches.

  • UpNorthMN (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Seller, could you tell us how much clearance there is from the ground to the bottom of the front spoiler/splitter?

I have a steep incline to my driveway and want to make sure it clears!

@ Dkouseller Thanks for the question. The car was in great shape prior to the work being completed. To touch on your question there were no transmission problems or any other type of damage in the interior. Our customer that owns the car is a big collector and always likes to have his cars in tip top shape. With all of his cars he spares no expense to make his cars pristine. In his words, he wanted to turn his 64k mile car into a 5k mile turn key car. All of the work completed has definitely turned this car into that. Unfortunately, he now needs to make room for his 2022 Acura NSX Type S, so that is the reason for him having to sell. The next owner will definitely be pleased, and will find the car to be an absolute pleasure to drive.

  • Dkouseller (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Beautiful car. Why was there so much work done to the car with less than 64,000 miles on it? Was there something wrong with the transmission that required a complete mechanical restoration? Or maybe some water or other damage because you redid all the upholstery? I am not saying any of this happened I am just would like clarification. Car looks to be in beautiful shape and well taken care of.

  • exclusivemotorcars (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

I wanted to welcome everybody to the auction of this Acura NSX. This example is truly unique as it has recently gone through a $40k mechanical restoration by Auto wave in Huntington Beach. This turn key car will be a joy to drive for its next owner. Good luck to all bidders. Please feel free to reach out if there are any questions.
