Up for auction is this 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior. Shown to be in a remarkably well-preserved state, this tastefully equipped 1990 example represents a fantastic value for any vintage Porsche enthusiast with a comprehensive mechanical service performed in 2018. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this 944 is now being offered for auction in excellent driving condition showing approximately 83k miles on the odometer.
The eye-catching Guards Red finish on this 944 is shown to be in excellent condition with minimal signs of road going wear; detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with recent paint meter readings. Noteworthy features include a recently replaced black canvas cabriolet top, custom yellow painted brake calipers and an aftermarket “Porsche” logo taillight lens. This 944 rides on factory D90 wheels which come wrapped in healthy Kumho tires.
The black leather interior is stated to be in excellent original condition. The seller confirms that the A/C blows ice cold and notes that all gauges, electrical components and accessories are fully functional. An upgraded Alpine head unit has been installed along with aftermarket speakers providing the driver with greatly improved sound quality. Factory options include power steering, power seats and a power-operated cabriolet top.
This S2 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.0L inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 208 HP and 207 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a smooth 5-speed manual transmission making for an originally claimed 0-60 time of approximately 6.9 seconds. In 2018, this 944 underwent a comprehensive mechanical service which included the following items:
The seller confirms this car to be up-to-date on all maintenance with a timing belt and water pump service performed prior to his ownership. This 944 is stated to be in excellent driving condition, just waiting to be enjoyed by its next owner.
The sale of this 944 will include a set of two keys, original books and documentation, service records, tools, a spare tire, air compressor and clear title. The Carfax does show a mileage discrepancy, however, it is said to be a clerical error in which the seller is looking into clarification. Do not miss your chance to own this well-sorted and tastefully equipped Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet.

I've never had any issue with parts or repairs. PORSCHE corporate seems to support all their vehicles and the enthusiasm of the aftermarket suppliers is amazing.

Appreciate the answers...thanks.
While I gotcha I might as well ask one more question. Are parts hard to find for this car given that if I recall correctly there were barely a few thousand of these made? Or are a lot of the 944 parts common? I used to own one of these. They are famous for the automatic tops not working, but the fact that yours does is no doubt a testament to how well you maintained the car. I see many other hints of that as well. I agree with you that it is amazingly reliable. I used mine as my every day driver for three years. Very little went wrong and while it was surprisingly peppy off the line for a non-turbo four banger, it didn't show it's true colors until you hit about 110. It has an amazing engine. My stable is currently full also, but I would definitely consider parking this next to my 84 red 911 Cabriolet, but have to unload my '62 T-Bird first! I did get an unsolicited call on it the other night. The 911 and S2 are two different cars but both are lots of fun!
PS Someday you may regret getting rid of this!

Well n105195 ...RANDY,
1..I have chosen to market this 944s2 because I own 5 collector cars and have space for 4.
My FORD GT is currently displayed @ the K.C AUTO MUSEUM and needs to be back
and exercised this year.
2..Please note the photo of the speedo milage starts with '0'.
3..The Carfax shows a careless mistake on the part of the Arizona state inspection dept., addressed in the decription.
4..I have owned this PORSCHE twice. My friend in K.C purchased new and sold to me. I sold to a friend in Tucson Az. and
purchased it back.

5..The paint meter shows no evidence of repair.
Hi. Nice car. I have four questions. The first is why are you selling the car? The second is the mileage discrepancy is concerning. The Carfax report (if I am reading the tiny writing clearly) shows mileage in the 70k to 80k range many years ago, and not in just one instance but several. How do you explain this? I believe you indicated you were trying to reconcile that? The car certainly doesn't look like it could have 180k miles and not 80k. Also, how long have you owned it and how many miles did you put on it in that time period? Finally, does car have ANY paint work/repaint/ body work and if so please provide details. Thanks! Randy M.
Can the center reflector be easily removed or would it require paint work? I assume license plate is screwed into bumper and would need repair?
Bid in the amount of $4,300
Looking thru the photos they are all recent and all are very represenitive of the current condition of this PORSCHE.
Tires from Tire Rack invoice sent.
Invoice sent from OTTO SERVICE CENTER,
K.C. for full service timming belt replacement.
Jim
Are all of the photos current, i.e. 2020? Receipts available for Timing belt, tires, etc? Thanks!
Bid in the amount of $4,000
My bride and I returned to K.C. from Tucson couple of years ago when I repurchased this PORSCHE.
1800+ MILES, AVG. 28 MPG, NO FLUIDS ADDED.
We were passed by a new SHELBY Mustang
so we just followed along. Cruised New Mexico & west Texas @ 120 mph.
Mr. SHELBY pulled in for fuel, what is that car? How fast will it go? Speedo says 160 !!
'IT WILL DO IT'.
JIM
Right you are Rob.
Selling now due to Bat's inability to sell then.
You had this car on BaT June 2019, correct? Did not make reserve. Just looking at those photos & comments. Why selling now? Thanks
Located in the center of USA...K.C.MO. area.
I'll check on underside photos...this PORSCHE is rust free.
Hello - is the car in MO or AZ? More pictures of the underside, rust? Thanks!
Bid in the amount of $3,500
Hello, to all PCAR fans. This is the very best PORSCHE I have owned. So what is my definition of ' BEST '. 944s2's are one of the most reasonable PORSCHE's to maintain and are now being recognized as a true PORSCHE and cabriolet's are the very rares of 944's of all.
