Highlighting its new transverse-mounted engine layout with a “t” suffix, the Ferrari Mondial t was launched in 1988 as the final evolution of Ferrari’s last 2+2 mid-engine V8 sports car. It features a larger 3.4-liter V8 engine than previous versions and was the first Ferrari equipped with power steering, an electronically controlled suspension, and a standard anti-lock braking system. This 1990 example is one of 1,017 total Mondial t Cabriolets built between 1989 and 1993 and one of only 379 for the North American market. It comes finished in red over a beige Connolly leather interior with red carpets and is equipped with a gated 5-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, air conditioning, power windows, a digital clock, and 16” alloy wheels. Showing registration history in California, Nevada, and Arizona on a clean CARFAX report, this Mondial t is now being offered for auction with approximately 37k miles showing on the odometer.
Designed by Pininfarina and built by Carrozzeria Scaglietti, the Mondial’s bodywork is characterized by pop-up headlamps and louvers on the hood, side air intakes, and rear decklid. The Mondial t is distinguished from earlier versions by its redesigned door handles, smaller rectangular air intakes, revised body-colored bumpers, and wider, fuller fenders. This example is finished in red with a black convertible top and boot cover. Equipment includes dual black mirrors, integrated fog lights, a black chin spoiler, circular taillights, quad exhaust tips, and 16” convex 5-spoke alloy wheels. The seller notes the car was previously refinished in its original color and the exterior remains in very good overall condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is appointed with beige Connolly leather upholstery, red carpets, and a contrasting black leather upper dashboard. Accessories include individual 2+2 seating, a black leather three-spoke steering wheel, a gated shifter assembly, power windows, air conditioning, a digital clock, a suspension stiffness switch, and an aftermarket Kenwood Bluetooth stereo.
Rated at 300 HP, the transverse mid-mounted Tipo F119 “Dino” V8 features dual overhead camshafts with four valves per cylinder and Bosch Motronic DME 2.5 engine management with integrated electronic fuel injection. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transmission with a twin-plate clutch and a limited-slip differential. The Mondial t was equipped as standard with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), power-assisted steering, and a variable electronically controlled suspension. The seller indicates some recent service records are available.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Ferrari enthusiasts and collectors now only consider the Mondial t to easily be the ultimate incarnation & collectible regarding overall performance and refinement and the Mondial t as the most modern 4-seat, mid-engined, Ferrari yet produced.”

The car is quite exceptional and very stunning in person and apart from the fact it has had a repaint, although a very professional and obviously no expense spared repaint, otherwise it should prove to tick all the boxes of the most discerning buyer.

What “recent service” was done? Do all of the gauges work correctly?
I had one; my first Ferrari. When everything was working it was a delight to drive. But the Mondial t model has its aches and pains. If thoroughly sorted out, it is a very enjoyable car to drive.
