Acquired by the seller from its second owner about three years ago, this 1990 BMW E30 325is has been modified with an S50 inline-six engine from an E36 M3 as well as a 5-speed ZF manual transmission, an Active Autowerke Stage 1 supercharger, a SuperSprint exhaust system, KW coilovers, BBS-style wheels, and a mechanical overhaul. It also came factory equipped with optional Sport Seats, a sunroof, fog lights, ABS brakes, and a HiFi stereo system. This supercharged S50-powered E30 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Utah.

This E30 is finished in black and features a front air dam, fog lights, an M3 roof antenna, an optional sunroof, a trunk lid spoiler, and a dual-tipped SuperSprint muffler. The seller notes the exterior moldings have been refinished in black and the windshield has been replaced. The car rides on 17” x 8.5” BBS-style wheels. New tires were mounted two years ago within the last 1,500 miles. The seller adds that the exterior remains in excellent condition apart from some paint fading on the hood and roof. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage to have occurred in 2007 and 2012.

The black interior features a pair of factory-optioned Sport Seats, a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, and a weighted ZHP shift knob. Other accessories include power windows and mirrors, and a factory HiFi sound system paired with a modern Continental Bluetooth radio. The seller notes the front seats have been reupholstered in leather and the dashboard has been replaced, although a small hairline crack is present. The odometer is inoperable and the car’s true mileage is unknown.

This E30 has been retrofitted with a 1995 BMW E36 M3 drivetrain consisting of a 3.0-liter S50 inline-six engine mated to a 5-speed ZF manual transmission. The engine and transmission were rebuilt including upgraded forged engine internals and ported cylinder heads. The car also features an Active Autowerke Stage 1 supercharger, a SuperSprint exhaust system, M6 engine mounts, KW coilovers, and a Porsche 944 Turbo brake booster. Extensive mechanical restoration was performed under current ownership including new brakes, axles, wheel bearings, driveshaft, differential, steering rack, tie rods, control arms, spark plugs, ignition coils, drive belts, and an overhauled cooling system with an E36 Euro radiator and 540i cooling fan.

This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. This car has been a labor of love of mine, I've waited 13 years for my client to finally offer the car to me after asking for years to offer it to me first if ever available, well the day came and there I started my project. I started it three years ago, so all is new on this car; put probably 1500 miles since then with no intention to sell. I recently purchased an E30 M3 and now that has become my new project to keep. Thanks.”

Hi raharg0 The motor swap was done a few years ago, two to be exact. The motor when built had a forged crank and rods installed also when the cylinder head was sent out to get ported recieved a threee angle valve job new guides seals and tappets, vanos was rebuilt at that time , the trans was rebuilt two years prior. The power train has maybe 30k , the new supercharger kit was originaly designed for the e36 and was reconfigured for the e30 chassis was installed in early May 2023 and has probably has 1500 mile on it .The car has had all its services performed in the last year, coilovers were installed at the same time ,no issues driving, no vibrations and is a great daily driver with the extra ponies to enjoy ,vehicle is well sorted out even here in southern utah where it can get warm in the summer the car stayed cool and maintained its oprational temps in stop and go traffic.

First, how awesome to see a car that has been enjoyed. The cars appears to be well loved. A few questions for the seller. Could you provide details on the engine and drivetrain? Date of install, mileage, service. Any concerns driving daily?
