The first major evolution of Porsche’s 928 grand touring car, the S4 version was launched in 1987 featuring updated aerodynamic bodywork and a new 5.0-liter DOHC engine. This 1989 example is finished in Grand Prix White over a Linen and Burgundy leather interior and is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transaxle, a limited-slip differential, an electric sunroof, body-colored 16” wheels, an updated Porsche Classic head unit, and heated power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support. The car is said to have been formerly owned by a 928 Club president in Ohio and is now being offered for auction out of Iowa with approximately 75k miles showing on the odometer and accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
Compared to earlier 928 models, the S4 version features more rounded aerodynamic bodywork including a front valence with integrated fog lights and a raised black rear spoiler. This example is finished in Grand Prix White (P5) with matching body side moldings and 16” forged alloy flat disc wheels. Other equipment includes pop-up headlamps, headlight washers, an electric sunroof, a roof-mounted antenna, a rear window wiper, and a single oval exhaust outlet. Some signs of general road-going wear are noted around the exterior and the BF Goodrich G-Force Sport tires show production date codes from 2015. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Linen leather upholstery, matching carpets, and contrasting Burgundy leather accents on the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support, a four-spoke Burgundy leather steering wheel, 928-branded door sills, power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, automatic climate control, rear seat air vents, cruise control, a digital odometer, an onboard computer, and an updated Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) head unit with Bluetooth and navigation. The original radio is included in the sale. The seller notes some wear on the rear inner quarter panels and the leather is pulling back around the rear side windows.
The fuel-injected 4.0-liter V8 DOHC engine delivers up to 320 HP and 317 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The seller indicates annual oil changes were carried out by the previous owner from 2020 until 2024, and there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a jack, a front license plate bracket, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.

@longnose911 it’s a typo in the listing. Refer to the photos, very clearly an automatic transmission in this one! Thanks!
Nice looking car. Can you clarify if it has a manual or an automatic drivetrain? From the pictures it seems like it has an automatic drivetrain, but the writeup mentions a manual 4 speed?
Absolutely gorgeous. Wow. Always wanted one of the S4s, in white! Sumptuous interior. GLWA

@buccicone between 2013 and 2016 this car had nearly $21k spent on repairs and maintenance, updating a lot of the known items and more.
The Belts, and water pump was last done in 2013 when the car had 71,655 miles. It has been driven sparingly since as you can probably tell. I am uploading records for you now. The car has seen normal maintenance intervals (fluid changes) from 2019 until today and has been driven sparingly, but I don't have records as it was done by an internal mechanic from the last owners business. Everything operates on the car as it should!
The day we received it I drove just over 30 minutes home, all highway, and the car floated down the road at 75 mph with no issues. Gauges work, radio played great tunes, and the AC was blowing cold. It's truly a great car!
When was the timing belt and water pump replaced?
@husker_boxster Thank you for the comment and catch on the listing. It is indeed the automatic transmission as you said. Although, the S4 had some horsepower bumps from the previous cars, it does in fact make 320hp, and 317 lb-ft of torque.
The attached link from Excellence Magazine does a nice job outlining the technical specs: https://www.excellence-mag.com/resources/specs/271
Very nice shark. Love the int color combo.
There are a couple of typos - 4 speed manual trans (appears twice) should be 4 speed automatic trans AND 316 HP not 320.

Pcar has added an updated Carfax, as the clerical error on mileage has been corrected. As it sits today the vehicle shows 75,689 original miles.
Good luck all!
Bid in the amount of $928
@DPommery the photos were taken last month, Pcar has simply listed the current mileage incorrectly. What you see on the odometer photo is what the vehicle has on it today.
I do have some service records in a binder, happy to share them to the gallery!
Based on the speedometer these pictures are 10 years old. Do you have current pictures and are there any service records
