Unveiled in 1986 as the first BMW M3, the original E30 version is cherished as the foundation for 6 further generations. This 1989 example has been refinished in Zinnoberot Red over a Natur leather. Equipment includes a sunroof, front sport seats, and air conditioning, while modifications include a Dinan S3 suspension system, 16” Hartge wheels, a Kenwood stereo, a Stromung exhaust system, and M3 Sport Evolution-style rear wing and carbon fiber front splitter. Accompanied by extensive documentation, this E30 M3 is now being offered for auction out of Texas with approximately 139k miles on the odometer.

This M3 is said to have been refinished in Zinnoberrot Red and features an electric sunroof, tinted windows, twin polished exhaust outlets, and wider fenders in comparison to the standard E30. The exterior has been modified with a Sport Evolution-style rear spoiler and carbon fiber front splitter, along with European-style tow hook covers. Aftermarket 16” Hartge wheels are mounted with Toyo Proxes R888 tires. Minor blemishes are depicted in the gallery, and the CARFAX report shows damage in 2009.

The cabin is appointed with Natur leather and features front sports seats, an onboard computer, air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows, mirrors, and locks. Aftermarket accessories include a Kenwood stereo with a retractable screen and an Escort Passport 9500Ci radar detector. Modifications include a Sport Evolution-style shift knob and parking brake handle, a microsuede-wrapped center armrest, an Alcantara-wrapped M-Tech II steering wheel, and an M Sport dead pedal.

The E30 M3 equips a 2.3-liter S14 inline four-cylinder engine rated at 192 HP and 170 lb.-ft of torque. The cylinder head is said to have been rebuilt along with the head gasket, valves and guides, and timing chain and tensioners in 2003. Work completed since 2021 includes the replacement of upper and lower oil pan gaskets and the installation of a 3.46:1 limited-slip differential. Additional modifications consist of aluminum front control arms, polyurethane control arm bushings, a Racing Dynamics front strut brace, a Stromung exhaust system with a VSR center section, H&R 15mm spacers, and a Dinan S3 suspension package including revised dampers, springs, and sway bars. Some finish appears to have worn away from the engine compartment. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with extensive documentation and service records.

This sale will include a clean title and extensive documentation.

@PCARMARKET the title is in Australia and will be Fedexed to the buyer immediately upon sale ( which looks to be 4 days by the estimate from FedEx) Payment can be made once it arrives, no problem at all.

  • kramco (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@Dluxor1 seller when I bought the car had tried to ascertain that also, but like most cars of this era there can be little info at times. From what the photos show and what my guys tell me, it must have been minor and repairs completed well because there is no evidence and the car drives beautifully. Thank you

    Attention Bidders:
We are updating to reflect that there is a 2-3 week to get title disclosure from the seller. Buyer will not be obligated to pay for the vehicle until the new title is in hand. Please keep this in mind. Thank you.

Do you know where the impact of the accident was and how severe the damage was? Carfax seems to be very vague.

  • kramco (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@Westopher thank you for that, much appreciated!

  • Westopher 1 year, 11 monthsago

@kramco I hope you get made whole here as it sounds like kind of a rough experience. Lots of great parts on the car.

  • kramco (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@Westopher Thanks for your message. I was just about to post this comment in the thread as I’ve had a few DM’s about it - the last sale on BaT fell through for no fault of the highest bidder and people who I had it on consignment with. BaT got their money and I paid out the highest bidder and my guys as well. I’m not going to complain about anything at my end, all I will say is there was some communication I wasn’t happy with at the beginning of the listing. It is a solid and beautiful car available with a clear title and a reserve, albeit reasonable. Thanks again for your enquiry. Mark

Sorry I meant to write *buyer

  • Westopher 1 year, 11 monthsago

What happened with the auction on BAT a few weeks ago? Seller backed out?

  • kramco (seller) 1 year, 11 monthsago

@gesmith55 thank you, good pickup. The car is in Austin TX

  • gesmith55 (registered bidder) 1 year, 11 monthsago

The summary shows the car is located in TX, but the description states it is being sold out of Maine. Where is the car located?
