Founded by a group of German entrepreneurs in California, ANDIAL grew to become one of the most successful Porsche racing companies through the 1970s and 1980s, building high-performance engines that remain coveted to this day. This 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe received a complete 3.7L twin-plug engine built at the hands of Dieter Inzenhofer, one of the founding members of ANDIAL. It came factory-finished in Black over a Silver Grey Special Leather interior along with optional heated Sport Seats, Sport Shocks Absorbers, a limited-slip differential, and shorted gearshift lever for its G50 manual transaxle. Accompanied by extensive documentation and supporting engine build receipts, this exceptional ANDIAL-tuned Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York showing under 34k miles on the odometer.
This Coupe is finished in Black and equipped with front and rear spoilers, integrated front fog lights,red-painted Brembo brake calipers, and a set of upgraded 17” RUF alloy wheels. The seller describes the exterior to be in excellent overall condition, noting only a few minor stone chips commensurate with normal driving. A rear window wiper came optioned from the factory and has since been removed with a delete plug. The seller’s paint meter shows higher readings on the left front fender and quarter panel, although no evidence of an accident or repairs are present. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
At an additional cost from the factory, this Carrera was appointed with a Black and Silver Grey Special Leather interior including heated Sport Seats with electric height adjustment. Other options include a black velour luggage compartment lining, an electric sunroof, an alarm system, Hi-Fi Sound Package, automatic speed control, headlight washers, an intensified windshield washer system, and shorted gearshift lever. A set of aftermarket aluminum pedal covers has been fitted along with an aftermarket stereo, black rubber floor liners, and a 930 S three-spoke leather steering wheel. All gauges and accessories are said to remain fully functional.
An invoice from ANDIAL Road and Race shows the details and cost associated with the 3.7L engine assembled by Dieter Inzenhofer in 2006. The blueprinted motor was mated to the car by a Porsche dealer in Colorado and features a twin-plug ignition system, 964 C2 cams, Carillo rods, polished intake ports, and a sport exhaust system. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The braking system has also been upgraded with larger Brembo calipers paired with cross-drilled rotors and stainless-steel lines. A collection of invoices provided in the gallery shows a comprehensively documented history of maintenance, and the seller notes the car was recently serviced at Speedsport Tuning in preparation for the next owner.
This sale will include a clean title, the original owner’s manuals, a window sticker, and a vast collection of documents.

@DriverM thank you sir and good read on the history of ANDIAL it happened that i have one of those Carrera Cup cars 1 of the 4 Parts Car with the sealed engine and trans. GLWS!
@burnrubr Sorry but I have never had it on scales. I imagine it’s very close to the stock weight of 2800 pounds.
any idea on the wet weight of this car?
@Roeser33 That was a great article. Thank you. I loved it.
@driverm I wrote that piece on Dieter Inzenhofer for Avants magazine. ANDIAL’s work always “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” Even they’re x 24 ish 993 TT’s - hard to tell apart from a normal 993 turbo but packed an additional 170-220hp than stock and RELIABLE .. Typical perfectionist German engineers. All go and no show! GLWA!
@DriverM Thanks

@markiemark The tires should be replaced. Still in decent shape as they have not been exposed to any extreme weather but they are old.
The Andial literature suggests the 3.7 conversion makes 275HP.
I hope that helps.
Hey Hows the Rubber 09 ?? on that car an what s HP ?
Amazingly and tastefully well preserved, prepared and presented; I am not sure if I would prefer judging this beautiful car at a PCA concours event or driving it...JUST KIDDING! Andial is such a cool part of the Porsche performance story. Best of luck to you, DriverM and my compliments to the next owner.
It would cost more than double the price of the engine build to do it today. I have a 3.4L twin plug in my 87. It totally changes the car! The 87-89's are built to handle speed but the 3.2 is under powered for the car. This 3.7L I'm sure is just fantastic in this car.
If I didn’t just buy a .2 RS, I’d be all over this… so close to where I live too…
Bid in the amount of $85,888
Man, what a handsome Porsche. this is !
And what a motor !!
All the right modifications, classically done, and fit the car so well
Perhaps I’ll hit the lottery and have a shot at this one, ha ha
Good luck all

@jcbfff The block is the original block. The only panels that reach higher are the front left fender and left quarter.
The original engine was shipped to Andial and reinstalled after the Andial mods back in Colorado.
@driverm , is the block original to the car? I read this sentence as it may have been a core sawp of sorts "The blueprinted motor was mated to the car by a Porsche dealer in Colorado ".
Has it been repainted? Stunning car!
@redmirror My pleasure. It is better to compare it to a RUF car? Perhaps. If you are close, I invite you to come and take it for a drive and see for yourself. It is exceptional........
@DriverM Yes, that's what I was asking, rough comparisons. However, this is a spectacular car. It's amazing. Thank you
@redmirror I'm not sure what you mean? A comparison? There was a 95k mile 1989 G50 that recently sold on another site for $155k and this car is in another league in my opinion. The seats have never been sprayed, carpets are all original, interior looks and smells like new. The tool kit is 100% complete and looks as if it has never been opened.
That is not taking into consideration what has been done to it by one of the BEST in the business. Then you have to drive it. If feels the way it should with a car that has 33K original miles.
This car has to be seen and driven and I'd be glad to show it to anyone. I believe there hasn't been a car to compare it to for sale in a long time. It stands alone.
do you have a guide price in mind?
Here is an article on Andial and the man who built this engine as documented in the records. Pretty cool!!!!

Bid in the amount of $55,000
@DrT It has been filmed. It's being edited and will be up early next week. It has an amazing deep throated sound to it. It's a fun car to drive and I hope that is apparent and translates in the video.
It's a true 33k mile car and it looks, feels and drives like it. It's extremely tight and the suspension and Brembo brakes tie everything up nicely.
Seller, It's all about that Andial engine; please post a video of the car accelerating through the gears. Thanks.
