Up for auction is this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera. As the market heats up on all air-cooled 911’s, well-sorted and highly original examples such as this one are sure to grab the attention of any enthusiast. This example has been an east coast car for its entire life, remaining in a temperature controlled garage since 1999. It is now being offered out of New Jersey with 75k miles on the odometer.
Finished in classic Guards Red, this 911 is stated to be in exceptional condition with only minor front-end road wear. Aside from a respray of the left front fender due to a minor flaw, the paint is in fact all-original. The car is equipped with 16" Fuchs wheels that are wrapped in a new set of Bridgestone tires.
The black leather interior of this 911 is stated to be in excellent condition with only minor wear. All electrical systems and accessories are in great working order including the A/C, sunroof, upgraded head unit, and Escort radar detector. Overall, this interior shows very well for its age and mileage, making this car a rolling time capsule.
This Carrera retains its original 3.2L flat-six engine that produces 217HP and 195 lb-ft torque. The power band is said to be very linear and pulls through the desirable 5-speed G-50 gearbox with ease. It is stated to be completely up-to-date on all service and in excellent running condition. Service records dating back to 1999 will be provided with the sale.
The sale will also include a clean Carfax, all original books, tools, air pump, 1 key, and documentation. This is your chance to own a true piece of Porsche history.

@cmongar Hello, and thanks for your question. I am not sure which picture you are looking at, but if you are referring to the gap on the lower panel under the bumper where it starts to curve around to the side, then that is the correct way the panel fits. I have an 86 cab currently on PCar Auctions and you can see the same gap in the photos of that car. You don’t see it on the other side because the panel ends short due to the exhaust tip location. Other than that, this bumper is not pushed in in anyway and is straight and true to the car. If there are any other pictures or angles that you would like, I would be happy to provide them to you, but there is no issue and the bumper is in its original position.
A couple of the pictures show that the bottom of the rear bumper on the right side looks to be pushed in. Its clearly not aligned to the panel in front of i by a couple inches. Please comment on the structural aspect of this misalignment and its cause, if known.

@GillesB thanks for your inquiry. Believed to be a 2 owner car. I know the second owner since 1999. All the pages to the carfax are on the listing, but I will try to send you a copy when I get back to my desk in an hour or so. No smells and no smoke. I did not perform a PPI specifically, but when I had a small fuel line replaced, my mechanic said the car looked very good overall. Very clean solid car that has been cared for it’s whole life.

@mulsanne79 Hello, thanks for your questions. I have the service records that date back to May 1999, all from the same owner. There is no mention of any major repairs, engine rebuilds, or a clutch. The car basically seems like it had very few issues through its life and basically received mostly routine service and maintenance every year. No rust anywhere. This is a very clean car with no stories. Runs and drives beautifully and looks just as nice. Well cared for and documented. I hope that helps.
Are there any documented major repairs/rebuilds on the engine and transmission? Any documents for a new clutch? Any rust? Thank you?

If this ain't the quintessential Porsche 911, I don't know what is then....Wow.
