We are pleased to present this exceptional 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo finished in Venetian Blue Metallic over a Marine Blue leather interior. This 930 has earned numerous people’s choice awards at various PCA events over the years and has even been invited to participate at the Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance. Having undergone an engine-out refresh as well as a full transmission rebuild, this Turbo is now being offered for auction in excellent original condition showing approximately 49k miles on the odometer.
The Venetian Blue exterior finish is stated by the seller to be in excellent original condition. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. This Turbo rides on a set of original 16” Fuchs wheels which are currently dressed in Continental Extreme Contact tires exhibiting ample tread life.
Inside, the driver is surrounded by a Marine Blue leather interior which highlights factory power Sports Seats as well as the original and refurbished Blaupunkt Reno radio with new OEM speakers. The seller notes the interior to be in fantastic original condition with some slight age-appropriate wear. Other factory options include air conditioning, left heated seat and a power-operated sunroof. All gauges, electrical components and accessories are reported to be in good working order.
This 930 carries an air-cooled 3.3L turbocharged flat-six engine rated at approximately 282 HP and 289 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission with factory limited slip differential. A comprehensive engine-out refresh was carried out a few thousand miles ago which included following items:
Following the refresh, this engine was reassembled to factory specs using all new hardware, fluids and filters. The seller notes that the transmission rebuild was carried out at approximately 47k miles by the same technicians who performed the engine service. Detailed service records and invoices are provided in the photo gallery. This Turbo is stated to be in excellent driving condition, just waiting to be enjoyed by its next owner.
The sale of this 930 will include two sets of keys, all original books, service records, un-used spare tire and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Do not miss this rare opportunity to own a truly well-preserved and beautifully configured 930 Turbo.

@Qdegraaf Didn’t sell yet. Lowered price a few days ago.
Sacrificing for quick sale. It is a perfect car in an uncommon color. Is this the one for you?
John
@johntothesea did the car sell?
@macwndsurf Underside photos have been added to the bottom of the photo gallery.
@johntothesea is there a mechanism to direct email so addresses are not visible to public?
Tried to reply to you five days ago, but looks like it didn’t work. Sorry
To macwndsurf email me for underside photos.
Just checking back in to see if you had any luck with those pictures
Literally just place your phone under the car on a piece of cardboard and snap a few pictures of engine, gearbox, exhaust ,undercarriage. Immensely helpful.
Thanks again
@macwndsurf . It looks like the car is going to be sold this weekend. If it doesn’t sell I will take you some underside pictures. Hard for me to do as I don’t have a lift or ramps. I’ll be sure to post a note if it does sell.
Just checking in to see if you had the opportunity to upload a few underside pictures?
Was interested in pictures under engine/exhaust undercarriage. You have a beautiful portfolio of body and interior photos but nothing of the undercarriage/engine which I am sure are in the same state.
For example there is a 1975 sunroof delete 911 coupe in DT with a number of photos that help us appreciate those hard to see areas.
Thanks again
@johntothesea Car is available to see and drive in Wilmington NC
@macwndsurf Price Drop has generated much interest
Should sell in the next few days.
No oil leaks. What are your questions and I will answer tomorrow.
Beautiful car. I assume still available?
Were you able to take any underside photos? Any oil leaks/condition of header pipes/exhaust
How can I arrange to see it personally?
Thanks so much

Good morning… Some fundamental information would be helpful. How do I contact the seller?
Offer in the amount of $79,600
@FL911 please see below
@Aaronporsche Hello
We contacted the seller who did respond, however, the response is not showing. Our tech team is working on this.
Here is what he typed;
To Aaronporsche and FL911. My responses to your questions have not posted so I've asked Pcarmarket to reach out to both of you. There are no issues with the car. I will help you get a PPI done. Hard to do underside photos, but I will if you tell me what you want to see. Selling this car because I need to raise cash. I drive it sparingly as I have other Porsche's and this one is just so perfect. John
In order to purchase I would need to speak with the owner and do a PPI. I’m not scared of the money.
Can I ask why you are selling this beautiful car ?
Looking at the car fax it appears you’ve put just a few thousand miles on the vehicle.
Are there any other issues that need attention ?
What does the under side of the vehicle look like if possible ?
Thank you in advance
@Jonel840 please submit an offer for the seller to review and either accept or reject. The Make Offer button is located at the bottom right of the page.

@82turboruf I just spoke to the Porsche dealership here and they think the TP is just an internal Porsche code, like what follows the engine, transmission and paint color in the COA.
In the interior what does leatherette beltline/TP mean?
maybe i can get it to stay in NC. doubt it though.

Thanks guys. It looks like a spectacular car.
@oscar94 I don’t know why the mechanical work was done. It was years before I owned the car. You can look through the receipts that I have posted. Paint was inspected by the dealership in my town, Wilmington Porsche, and they feel that it is original. My mechanic, himself a former service manager at another Porsche dealership has also inspected the car and has said that he feels it is original too.
I know this car and the owner very well and have had the pleasure of riding in it several times, twice on long trips to PCA shows and also helped John prep it for the Pinehurst concours. It's a stunning example in beautiful condition that has been extremely well maintained with no expense spared. The color combo always gets positive remarks at PCA events, and has a very timeless look on the 930. John is well-known in his local Porsche community and is one of those concours aficionados who doesn't hesitate to spend hours at a time cleaning door jambs or wheel wells with q-tips, so bid with confidence knowing you'll be getting a car that has been lovingly maintained.
beautiful car! is there a reason for so much work on the engine and transmission with so few miles?
have you been able to confirm that the paint is original...paint meter? textured surface on the lips of the fenders?
thanks
@AB Not that close yet, but we’re getting there. Take a good look at the pictures and don’t miss out.
