Up for auction is this beautifully presented and highly-optioned 1987 911 Targa finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior. Representing one of the most iconic sports cars of the 1980’s, the G-series Targa offers both open air cruising and a coupe-like experience with the top up. This example was under the care of its last owner since he purchased the car back in 1988 with just 3k miles on the odometer. Now showing approximately 53k miles, this Targa is being offered for auction in excellent condition by its new seller in Phoenix, AZ.
The Guards Red finish on this Targa is stated to be in excellent condition. The car seems as if it has been in a climate controlled environment for most of its life. This Targa remains completely stock and comes factory equipped with front and rear spoilers, a rear window wiper and desirable 16” Fuchs alloy wheels which are wrapped in Bridgestone tires.
Inside, this Targa sports a black leather interior highlighting numerous factory add-ons. The interior is said to be in fantastic original condition. This example retains its fully functional original Blaupunkt radio as well as all other gauges, electrical systems and accessories. One of the most luxurious and well-equipped sports cars of its day, this Targa boasts extensive factory options and amenities including:
This Targa carries its original air-cooled 3.2L flat-six engine that is rated at approximately 217 HP. Power is delivered to the rear wheels by way of a desirable G-50 5-speed manual transmission. Equipped with the optional sport shock absorbers, both the performance and stance of this Targa are enhanced. A full inspection has recently been carried out by Patrick Motorsports proving that this car is in excellent running condition.
The sale of this impeccable 911 Targa will include all original books and documentation, two sets of keys, a spare tire, toolkit, and extensive records. This 911 is being offered with a clean bill of health and a clear Arizona title in-hand. Don't miss your opportunity to own this stunning Targa.

@Kbru yes, as good as A/C works on a G-Body. : )
air con working?
@iso7 I have submitted underside pictures to PCAR.
@iso7 actually the title that was issued in 1988 at 5,000 is the second owner, and who I bought the car from last month. Subsequent titles are only updates going from just him to both he and his wife, etc.
also photos of the underside would be helpful
So perhaps you can help us understand the provenance of this car. The Carfax report shows a change in ownership in 2002 in Iowa. According to the Carfax this would have been the second owner and the car had over 25,00 mi. at that time. What am I missing?
@carsinc if you send me tour email I will send you a link to all of the pictures.
Thanks for clarification. How the top fits on the car is one of the most important aspects of a Targa
@carsinc there are a few in the gallery. I submitted 300 pictures to PCAR and they upload what they want.
Why no pic of top on the car?
