The Mercedes-Benz 560SL was introduced in 1986 as the top trim model of the R107 SL-Class. Updates for the SL included a revised braking system and a deeper front air dam, while the 560 SL trim would receive an upgraded suspension, a 5.5-liter V8 engine, and a limited-slip differential. This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Arctic White over Royal Blue leather and is now being offered for auction out of South Carolina showing approximately 59k miles on the odometer.
This 560SL comes finished in its factory-specified shade of Arctic White and sits on 15" Gullideckel alloy wheels shod in Michelin tires at all four corners. Additional exterior features include fog lights, a dark blue fabric soft top, and an electrically adjustable passenger mirror. A color-matched hardtop also accompanies the sale. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this SL presents Royal Blue leather upholstery with matching carpeting below. Polished wood veneers line the center console and dashboard. New burred wood trim has also been installed for the shifter surround. Amenities include a steering-wheel airbag, automatic climate control, and power windows. An aftermarket Kenwood stereo is installed. A 170-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer provide instrumentation, and an outside temperature indicator is mounted in the dashboard's center. The seller notes the instrument cluster was rebuilt in 2021, and a couple of small cracks on the top of the dashboard are present. The automatic antenna is currently inoperable.
Beneath the hood lies a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 producing 227 HP and 279 lb-ft. of torque. A 4-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential transmit power to the rear wheels. The seller states there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time and four new Bilstein shock absorbers were installed in 2022.
The sale will include a clean title and a removable hardtop.
The seller would like you to know: "I have owned this beautiful example since 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a real eye-catcher and always gets positive comments when I drive it. It has been maintained by a local retired Mercedes mechanic and everything is up to date and working. The car is ready for a new home just in time for the summer season. Good luck to all bidders!"

The soft top was replaced by the previous owner. Looks great and the windows are clear. The hardtop is in my garage on its stand. Just washed it last weekend.
To the best of my knowledge the paint is all original. It’s just been clay bared and waxed. Mercedes white is amazing. When I park next to another white car, the other one looks dingy. The blue pin strip on the side is also paint. No vinyl on this vintage!
Do you have the factory hardtop?
What is the condition of the soft top? original or has it been replaced?
@seller. Is it original paint ?

Hey…nothing in the dash was reset. The clock wasn’t working so we had to send the entire instrument cluster out to be rebuilt. Everything is working perfect! Hope that answers your question.
Nice car. You mentioned a reset of dash. Is the mileage correct

Hello all, thank you for checking out my MB 560SL. I have thoroughly enjoyed this beauty for the past 6 years, but it’s time for someone else to be the caretaker. A few things I like about this vehicle are the stunning white/blue color combination, the upgraded rocking stereo, and the large trunk which easily accommodates 2 sets of golf clubs or a full trip to the grocery store. Most 2 seat convertibles have little or no trunk space. Hopefully the text and pictures will provide the information you need, but I can answer questions if there are any. Thank you and good luck with your bids. It’s a great time of year to drive a rag top!!!
