Introduced for North America in 1983, the Porsche 928 S featured a larger 5.0-liter V8 engine and was offered as the top-range version of Porsche’s flagship grand touring car. This 1986 example is finished in Guards Red over Black leather and is equipped with a 5-speed manual transaxle, 16” alloy wheels, an upgraded aluminum radiator, an electric sunroof, and power seats. Purchased by the seller in 2022 and serviced with a new timing belt, water pump, ignition, fuel system components, and much more, this 928 S is now being offered for auction out of Texas with approximately 101k miles showing on the odometer.
This 928 S is finished in Guards Red with matching body side moldings, a black polyurethane rear spoiler, and 16” flat-disc alloy wheels. Other equipment includes popup headlamps with washers, front fog lights, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, and dual exhaust tips. The seller indicates the Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4 tires were replaced in preparation for sale. The rear window wiper was repaired under current ownership, although the reverse lights are out, and the power mirror adjustment feature is inoperable. The Black leather interior includes power-adjustable front seats, folding rear seatbacks, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, and an Alpine CD stereo paired with aftermarket speakers. Some signs of wear are noted on the front seats, the rear seats have been reupholstered, and the passenger-side window motor was replaced under current ownership. The tachometer was repaired in June 2024 and the A/C has been serviced with a new compressor, drier, and fan motor.
A naturally aspirated 5.0-liter DOHC V8 engine delivers up to 288 HP and 302 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. Service under current ownership includes replacements of the timing belt, water pump ignition wires, spark plugs, distributor cap & rotor, engine belts, engine mounts, fuel lines, injectors, fuel filter, fuel pump, battery, brake hoses, and axle boots. A power steering leak has also been repaired under current ownership.

Thanks for your inquiry. Power steering leak was repaired at a Porsche specialty shop in Connecticut when my brother had the car. Subsequently, it has leaked a bit periodically but not bad enough to repair.
Hello, nice looking 928. I have two 928s now, this would be number 3. Question regarding the service work performed under your ownership. The inspection report on page 55 from Dumont's Motorsports indicates leaks from the steering rack and P/S lines, and the listing states the power steering leak has been repaired, but I don't see a receipt for that repair having been completed. Can you post that receipt? Thanks!

I’d like to briefly introduce myself to the buying community. I inherited the Red Rocket Porsche 928 from my brother, a former Navy fighter pilot and airline Captain. My brother bought the car in New Jersey and moved it near his home in Connecticut. While there he took it to Porsche specialty shops and had a lot of maintenance done, barring no expense. He passed away and left the car to me. My son and I flew to Connecticut, picked it up and drove it to his house in Oklahoma, City where it was further worked on by a local Porsche shop. I then drove it from OK, City to my home in Spring Branch Texas. Since then I had the AC system completely fixed with a new compressor, barrier hose, and fan motor. Between my brother and me we have invested a lot of money to get the car up to speed. She now runs very well with cold blowing air inside the cockpit. The car tag is named after my brother Captain Mike.
