Starting in 1983, Chevrolet collaborated with Choo Choo Customs of Chattanooga, Tennessee to produce a special edition of the El Camino SS, fitted with rally wheels, a redesigned fascia, SS decals, sport mirrors, a windshield visor, and a body-colored bed cover. Choo Choo Customs became well known in the late 70s for modifying conversion vans with luxury amenities and upgrades, and built the custom El Camino for Chevrolet until production ended in 1987. This example is finished in Silver Metallic over a maroon vinyl interior and is said to be one of approximately 1,000 produced for the model year, and was delivered new to Day’s Chevrolet of Acworth, Georgia in November of 1985. Showing approximately 38,600 miles on the odometer, this El Camino is now being offered at auction by the seller based out of Arizona.
The vehicle was ordered in two-tone Silver Metallic (12U) with the lower body finished in Gray (83) and features a revised polyurethane front fascia installed by Choo Choo Customs, as well as SS decals on the nose, door, and tailgate. Other custom exterior details include sport mirrors, a hood scoop, dual exhaust tips, a windshield visor, Designer Series door handle inserts, and a body-colored bed cover. The seller describes the exterior to remain in great condition with some small rock chips to the bottom of the front fascia. Additional images are provided in the gallery, along with a clean CARFAX report. This El Camino rides on chrome-finished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels with BF Goodrich tires, and the original 14” Rally wheels and the original tires are said to accompany the sale.
The interior is upholstered in maroon vinyl, featuring a front bench seat with a center armrest and matching carpets and interior trim. Amenities include air conditioning, a console shifter, a Delco AM/FM cassette radio, and power windows and door locks. Model-specific details from Choo Choo Customs consist of embroidered floormats with SS logos, a conversion sticker below the driver’s side door striker, and a badge affixed to the dashboard above the glovebox.
This El Camino is powered by a carburetor 350ci V8, which was factory rated at 150 HP and 240 lb.-ft of torque, and the rear wheels are driven by a TH200-4R 3-speed automatic transmission. Performance options include the F41 Sport Suspension Package, power steering, power front disc brakes, and a G80 Positraction rear axle. Records show the air conditioning system was converted to R134A in 2014 along with a new compressor and belts.
This sale will include two keys, service records including the original invoice, owners manuals and the original wheels with lightly used tires mounted.

@JonRJen thanks jon. First time doing an au tion. We shall see .thank u again for tge support
@realitalian I have a feeling that this will be one of those auctions where bidders show their true interest and valuation in the last hour of the auction and not any earlier.
The CCC El Camino does have a following of those who admire the vehicle with almost a loyalty. The CCC El Camino do not appear often in the marketplace, as such a current valuation history of sales is not easily available or established as on other collectible vehicles.
This shows to be an extremely great example of a CCC El Camino that is certain to bring a respectable closing bid.

@JonRJen Hi Jon. Thanks for reaching out, I just uploaded a couple of pictures of the bed. It is as new as the rest of the truck. It's a true time capsule. Only original once. I will put my 37 year reputation in the restaurant business that this is as good as it gets. Serioulsy from top to bottom, inside and out I would say it's a 95 point truck..Runs and drives as new..thank you for your interest.
What is the condition of the paint and metal under the rubber bed mat?
Hello el camino fans. Just want to give you a good insight as to the amazing condition she is in. This el camino has been lovely cared for by 2 previous older gentlemen . It's a time capsule as you can see in the photos. A file full of paperwork, service records and such including a hand written original invoice. A true matching #s SS with the Choo Coo conversion. Beautiful paint, body and interior..Any questions ask?? I purchased it from a 75 year old lady customer who bought it from her widow friend..Thanks and someone is going to get a really awesome el camino
