This 1985 Porsche 928 S comes finished in the Paint to Sample color of Garnet Red Metallic and features a rare 5-speed manual transaxle paired with its 5.0-liter V8 engine. The car was purchased by the seller, an experienced 928 owner and PCA member, from a PCARMARKET auction in 2023 and has since undergone over $6k worth of maintenance including a new steering rack. This 928 S was imported from Canada to New York where it is now being offered for auction with approximately 100k miles showing on the odometer.

The 928 S can be distinguished from a standard 928 by its black polyurethane front and rear spoilers and 16” forged aluminum wheels. This 1985 example came factory-finished in the rare Paint to Sample color of Garnet Red Metallic (L999) and the seller describes the exterior to be in very good overall condition. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black interior received new Champagne Beige leather upholstery for the seats under prior ownership. Accessories include a black leather four-spoke steering wheel, power-operated front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, a digital clock, an electric sunroof, electrically adjustable mirrors, and an aftermarket Panasonic radio with JBL speakers. The seller indicates several relays, switches, and fuses were replaced under their ownership along with the circuit board for the gauge cluster. The odometer was also repaired.

A naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine delivers up to 288 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The previous owner reportedly replaced the timing belt and water pump in 2021, and the current owner oversaw replacements of the battery, steering rack, and engine oil in 2023. The seller adds that the car’s suspension, brakes, timing belt, water pump, and fuel system were recently inspected by a professional and found to be in good condition.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thanks For looking at this beautiful unique color 928.  I have had three of them and would love to keep this one. I am selling due to my age; it's time for someone else to thrill to that Porsche V8 rumble. Good luck.”

@eurocol Windows work. AC needs a temperature control valve but OK otherwise, Sunroof works per mechanic Rick, but I never use, The $6k was for new steering rack, rebuilt speedo/odometer, instrument cluster circuit board, battery, 4 wheel alignment, several fuses and relays and lots of labor. Rick had car simmer of 23 as I asked him to be sure everything worked.

Seller-Hey 928 fans, here is a beauty, My third one, Raced the first and fixed up the second; First one, an 84S finished 30 PCA races and no DNF. Porsche mechanic who helped on race car says this 85S 32 valve is strong and runs great. Father Time says to let someone else enjoy this beautiful classic.
