Toyota’s LX variant of the 40-Series was exclusively offered in Australia, Japan, and the Middle East, representing the deluxe version of FJ40 with unique features such as revised windows, weatherstripping, chrome accents, custom interior options, and varied color selections. This 1983 model is finished in tan with a brown interior featuring beige zebra-patterned fabric seats. It is equipped with a 4.2-liter 2F inline-six engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Notable features include 16” wheels, manual locking hubs, heater, air conditioning, radio, and speakers. This FJ40 LX is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.

It rides on black-finished 16” wheels wrapped in Dunlop SP Road Gripper S tires.
Inside, the brown interior is complemented by front bucket seats and forward-facing rear seats upholstered in beige zebra-patterned fabric, a hallmark exclusive to the LX trim level. Also exclusive to the LX is a rear sliding window. The truck comes equipped with a heater, air conditioning, a dash pad, radio, speakers, and manual crank windows. All gauges and electronics are reported to be fully functional.
Power comes from a 4.2-liter 2F inline-six and is delivered to the rear or all four wheels by way of a 4-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. I think this was just the wrong venue for this vehicle. This thing looks to be pretty cherry for 39k. Good luck with your sale.
The first three bids by the same person outbidding their own previous bid give the appearance of some funny business, especially since that bidder didn’t return.

Thank you so much and good luck .
@ionyota I have added 3 pictures that answer your question.
The car is in full factory original condition.
The new owner will be a lucky person with it, as it is difficult to find like this car.
Thank you so much and good luck .
Is the speedometer correct on the video?
@seller, the exterior body and the hardtop on this 40 doesn’t show any of the factory spot welds. At least I don’t see them in the pictures. Any idea why? Was it painted at some point?

@ionyota The car is wonderful and I use it almost daily. It arrived almost two months ago and I have driven it approximately 1,300 miles. I changed the oil filter, oil engine, and new batteries only.
only needs a new owner to complete the care and enjoyment ..
It is the best between all the cars we have,
and so is the opinion of everyone who has seen it, as if it was new completely.
Thank you and good luck
@seller, how long have you owned it, and how many miles have you put on it?
Any notable maintenance/service/repairs that you’ve done? Thx
@ionyota Good morning
Yes, of course with the clean title from Texas.
And I will add today, new video
Thank you so much
@seller, does the vehicle come with a clean US title? If so, from what state?
Do you have a driving video that shows the vehicle starting from a stop, going through the gears, and getting up to highway speed?
@dmcnaughton It is very easy to get the title. As long as the import and customs documents are complete.
With only a 10-digit VIN, does this have a Texas title? Just wondering how hard it would be to register it.
@jointprojects Thank you.. The car is actually in very excellent condition, like a completely new one, and all parts are completely original. I will attach videos.
Looks like a nice example of the FJ. Any service records to share and / or who has been maintaining it? Owned a '76 FJ and wish we hadn't let it go. Any additional mechanical information would be appreciated. Thanks.
