Marking the inaugural year of the Carrera 3.2, this 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa is equipped with an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle. It comes finished in Guards Red over a black interior and features a removable roof panel, integrated fog lights, headlamp washers, 16” Fuchs wheels, power windows, air-conditioning, cruise control, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a vintage Blaupunkt radio. A lifelong Southern California, this Targa is now being offered for auction by its third owner with approximately 135k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911 is finished in Guards Red with a removable black Targa top and roll hoop. Equipment includes a front valence with integrated fog lights, headlamp washers, power mirrors, a rear window defroster, a fender-mounted antenna, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The car rides on 2020 date-coded Continental tires and the seller notes some minor scratches and cosmetic imperfections around the exterior. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black interior includes leather seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, analog VDO gauges, a quartz clock, and a Blaupunkt Monterey SQR 23 AM/FM cassette stereo. A leather cover has been placed over the steering wheel, and the seller notes signs of age, including tears and cracks on the seats. The seller adds that the gauges, air conditioning, and heater are fully functional.
An air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 207 HP and 192 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle. The seller notes the car is in good driving condition, and a routine service was recently completed.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This car was acquired from the estate of the second owner who owned it from the mid-80s. The car has been a southern California (Pasadena) car all of its life and has had a very easy life. The car is in great original daily driver shape for being over 40 years old but is not perfect. Could be enjoyed the way it currently is or be taken to next level.”

Great looking car and looks solid! From the pictures it's hard to see, but it looks like just a 'normal' amount of leaking from the engine/trans? Anything significant? GLWTA!

How does the transmission feel? Any grinding in the 1-2 or 2-1 shift?
Does this car need anything before making a 1500 mile road trip?
