This inaugural-year 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet is said to have undergone a complete body conversion as a tribute to the 964 Turbo under previous ownership along with an upgraded big brake kit, a Garett G35 turbocharger, B&B 930 manifolds, and more. Reportedly held as part of a collection and serviced by an in-house mechanic since 2014, this unique air-cooled Cabriolet is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York while showing approximately 113k miles on the odometer.
Refinished in the factory-specified color of Black, this Cabriolet has undergone a complete 964 Turbo body conversion featuring fiberglass bumpers, widened fenders, and a Tea Tray rear spoiler. Additionally, red-finished brake calipers have been fitted behind the 17” Cup-style wheels with colored Porsche center crests and Yokohama ES100 tires. The seller notes some signs of road wear and imperfections on the rear bumper. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black interior has been customized with carbon fiber RS-style bucket seats along with RS-style door panels and an aluminum shift knob. Additionally, an aftermarket digital instrument cluster and an amplifier have been installed.
Power comes from a 3.2-liter flat-six engine, which is said to have been modified to achieve approximately 350 HP using B&B 930 exhaust manifolds, a Garrett G35 turbocharger, a TiAL 46mm wastegate, a TiAL blow-off valve, and a custom intercooler. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. Other upgrades include larger Porsche brakes on all four corners and a rear Bilstein sport suspension. The seller adds that an in-house mechanic has carried out regular maintenance items including routine fluid changes.
This sale will include a clean title.

As far as we know of the car, the fenders and quarters are done in fiber glass just like bumpers, it is from a well known body kit and also done with the highest care and finish. I have acquired a set of steel flares and fenders but found it unnecessary since it is so well done in the first place. If the car was to be returned back to stock form I should have oem carrera flares and turbo flares and I can put that on Pcarmarket for sale n the future. I also toyed with the idea of changing the bumpers and tailights back to impact bumper style to make it more inline with the vintage and had also acquired the necessary bumpers pieces and hardware to do so but also resisted due to same reason above. I have had a few inquiries about the transmission, it is a stock 5 speed Carrera engine and gives much needed gear over the 930's. Again I have my good share of 930's, 964 turbos and this is quicker on its feet that either one of them in stock form. Thanks everyone for your inquiries and bids, this is a great open car that can be enjoyed and can keep up with most modern sports cars and not have the guilt of modding it yourself. This one is already done and can be enjoyed for a fraction of what a true 964 turbo or a 930 is worth.

Beautiful car. Please confirm if the front and rear fender flares are steel or fiberglass and the the front and rear bumpers are indeed fiberglass (as stated in the description) or they are OEM/ABS plastic.
Hello Pcarmarket community, thank you all for your interests and views and would like to add a bit about the car. The car has been transformed by previous owner with an extensive and thorough build. From the custom gauges with built in digital display on the tachometer to Porsche oem turbo big reds, custom stainless steel exhaust, carbon fiber RS style racing seats, brand new convertible top, a very high gloss professional paint, power door locks with immobilizer, low boost turbo with oversized intercooler and much more, you can begin to see that this build is definitely not a home garage winter special. It was definitely a well thought out and well planned build. When on boost the car wakes up like no 3.2 can and will put a big big smile to any aircooled enthusiast or any car lover.
