Marking the final year of the 911 Super Carrera (SC), this 1983 Porsche 911SC Targa comes refinished in Mexico Blue with Carrera side scripts over a black interior. The equipment includes a front chin spoiler, a rear Whale Tail spoiler, an aftermarket rear valance, an upgraded stainless steel exhaust, a lowered suspension, Fuchs wheels, and more. Showing approximately 220k miles on the odometer, this Targa is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
The exterior has been refinished in the historic Porsche shade of Mexico Blue adorned with black Carrera side scripts. Equipment includes a black Targa bar and removable roof panel, a front chin spoiler, a Carrera Whale Tail spoiler, an aftermarket fiberglass rear valance, and black-painted 15” Fuchs alloy wheels with new Continental DQ tires driven less than 100 miles. The seller notes the paint is beginning to fade in small areas, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is welcomed by black partial leather upholstery. Amenities include power windows and mirrors, VDO instrumentation, and a heater. Additionally, a Sparco steering wheel with a yellow 12 o’clock marker has been fitted, along with a Pioneer head unit and speakers. The seller notes the air conditioner is currently inoperable as the compressor was removed under prior ownership.
An air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine is said to have been rebuilt under prior ownership, although supporting documentation has not been provided. The seller adds that a stainless steel exhaust has been fitted, larger sway bars have been installed, and the suspension has been lowered. Additionally, the oil cooler lines have been replaced.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This vehicle was purchased from the previous owner, who explained that the motor was rebuilt. However, there is no documentation of this action. With that said, we have done an extensive examination of everything related to this vehicle’s powertrain. It is clear that the engine was rebuilt. There is not one leak or missing item. The car runs and drives flawlessly and is very enjoyable. We understand that this is a significant item to take a seller’s word on. We are happy to provide as much information as possible or answer any questions you might have in order to ensure your confidence when bidding on this amazing car! Thank you for taking the time to view this listing.”

@HillbankMotorsports thank you!
@Guchon , There is no other rust present on the remainder of the vehicle. The vehicle itself has remained in Florida since 2002.
@HillbankMotorsports yes, Is there any rust anywhere else other than what I see in picture 85

@VTBlue , No, the vehicle was repainted in Mexico Blue. Believe the car was grey before.
Bid in the amount of $20,250
Was Mexico Blue the original color?
Thank you.
Bid in the amount of $20,000
Bid in the amount of $17,750
Picture 85 showing some rust, how much more of that is around the undercarriage?
Painted Fuchs…. Why not leave them polished in the rim part and refinish the inside. So much better for the period I think. This car is such an awesome driver. I too think more info is needed on the engine rebuild.
Bid in the amount of $17,500
@Dbahnick , Yes, if someone would like to replace it all, there is no reason that it could not be done. We are unsure of what it would cost to have that service preformed. Just know that the remainder of the AC equipment, less the compressor, appears to be present. A full replacement of the system might not be necessary.
Bid in the amount of $15,000
Can A/C be replaced? Cost?
What a beautiful example. In the absence of receipts, documents or knowledge of who rebuilt the engine, it would seem completely appropriate to provide BOTH leak down test results AND recent compression test results. As mentioned above by the seller, "this is a significant item to take the seller's word on."
With these critical data, prospective buyers would be able to bid with confidence.
@renchris , No indication that a leak down test is required on this vehicle.
Leak down test results?
Bid in the amount of $5,000
