It was configured with 16” Fuchs alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, headlight washers, front fog lights, Sport shock absorbers, Sport Seats, cruise control, and more. Acquired by the seller in 2021, this Targa is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 59k miles showing on the odometer.

The exterior is finished in Black (A1) with a matching Targa bar and removable roof panel. Optional equipment includes front and rear spoilers, headlight washers, rectangular front fog lights, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels which come dressed in Goodyear Eagle tires. Additional details include U.S. specification bumperettes, “sugar scoop” headlight rings, a center tail panel reflector, and a fender-mounted antenna. The seller adds that the original spare tire is stored in the front trunk. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, the driver is greeted with tan upholstery with optional Sport Seats, coordinated carpets, and a contrasting brown dashboard and door top panels. Options include an electric antenna with four speakers, two rear shelf-mounted speakers, an electrically- adjustable passenger-side mirror, and cruise control. All gauges and accessories are said to be in proper working order.

An air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine produces up to 180 HP, delivered to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle. The seller states that routine services have been kept up to date, a new battery has been installed, an air conditioning service has been performed, new struts have been fitted, the brakes were serviced, and a smog test was passed in October 2021.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “A complete all original car with 59k original miles, excellent mechanical condition, original paint and interior with leather sport seats.”

@racecarrobbie Thank you for your comment - yes the paint is original and as you can imagine a few chips from road rash and areas where the paint shows its age but all in all - original and always ready for a new owner to decide to keep it this way or put a fresh coat of paint to revive it back to new looking. I chose to keep it original. thanks again for the comments

@Epicmc Hello your request for paint reading has been updated as promised - thank you

  • Mkindo (seller) 3 weeksago

@jaxxon99 - Hello and thank you for you questions - the CoA actually reads Leather Sport Seats L/R there is no mention that the seats have any added insert materials other than leather. The seats are leather and they are the original seats. I think what you are referring to is the Interior Material Color Type which states Cork Leatherette w-pin stripe velour inserts_38 - this is not for the leather fronts seats or any seat inserts as the leatherette is the cork vinyl everywhere else in the interior. I hope this clarifies your comment_question. thank you again for looking

Hello everyone, there was a request to provide paint thickness readings. I received a coating thickness gauge and have provided new pics from the readings on the - front hood top and bottom, front bumpers L and R, doors L and R, Rear fenders L and R, rear bumpers L and R, and rear decklid by logo. no roof as it is a Targa

The COA says seat inserts are velour with pinstripes, do we think they have been replaced or is the COA incorrect?

  • racecarrobbie (registered bidder) 3 weeksago

I love how original this is. The 43 year old paint looks great! As they say, it is only original once. GLWS

@TheGerman Hello thank you for the question - The car had AC service from a Porsche dealer in 2018 where it reports the system had evacuation and recharge performed. But doesn't state R12 0r any conversion to R134a but I will check later today. In addition, to import to Germany - if the car is a classic (over 30 years) and has original equipment and the AC is evacuated you should be fine to import. Realistically, these older air cooled AC systems don't cool very well even in a perfect world and usually not used much for that reason. We can continue the discussion if you're seriously interested . Thanks again.

  • TheGerman (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 1 dayago

Has the A/C already been converted to R134a?
If not, would you do it at your expense if I win?
To import this car to Germany it must be converted to R134a!

    Thank you

  • Mkindo (seller) 3 weeks, 2 daysago

@Epicmc Thank you for your request - I have ordered a meter and arrives tomorrow and I will upload once received. I can also assure you the paint is original as you can see the original dealer sticker (pic 11) is still on rear deck lid of the car, no accidents reported and from visual inspection a 40+ year original paint condition (not perfect with some small chips in front bumper/hood area as seen in pics. Plus all original stickers from factory and latches/bolts not sprayed over.

  • Epicmc (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 2 daysago

Are you able to verity original paint and no bodywork with a paint thickness meter? They are readily available and inexpensive.

  • Mkindo (seller) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

@Epicmc - AC works good. The is in really good mechanical condition not needing anything in terms of driving and reliability- sound car as original.

  • Epicmc (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

Does the AC work well? Does the car need anything?

@Epicmc - thank you for your question- yes the paint is original.

  • Epicmc (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 4 daysago

Lovely car, is the paint original?

  • Mkindo (seller) 3 weeks, 6 daysago

@palien Hello and thank you for your comments - the original latch is not broken and it works as designed and original. A video will be posted to show the original latch fully operational. The second latch is a 2nd latching piece includes a hidden keyed lock inside that the previous owner installed for security purposes. This can easily be removed if the new owner decides.

  • Mkindo (seller) 3 weeks, 6 daysago

@Arrow - Hello and thank you for your interest and comments. Regarding the 1st question, the stock engine compartment latch is not broken. In fact it works as designed and original. I will upload a video to show the latch operational. The second latch is a 2nd latching piece includes a hidden keyed lock inside that the previous owner installed for security purposes. This can easily be removed if the new owner decides. 2nd question - The CoA indicates the original Exterior Paint is A1 black and the car has not been repainted - original paint and color. Yes the Dash and the remaining trims - door, rear. and rear speaker back are all the same color, all matching.

  • Mkindo (seller) 3 weeks, 6 daysago

Hello and welcome everyone. Thank you for looking at this 911SC Targa. A beautiful original car with low miles. Very clean and mechanically sound. I will answer all questions as soon as I can and good luck!

  • palien (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 6 daysago

It looks like the original engine hood latch is broken as there is nothing inside it to catch the latch pin, and some bright spark has installed a Massey Ferguson latch to probably a drilled hole in right side of engine lid? Why?

  • Arrow (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 6 daysago

Seller, I have two questions. What is the cable that runs from left to right terminating in a “latch” at the bottom right of the engine compartment for? Secondly, a brown dashboard in a black car is a very unusual color combination. Confirming that black is the original body color? Thank you. GLWTA.
