Available for auction is an authentic Shell TMO Das Öl der Besten illuminated sign. This original 1980s era sign advertised Porsche and Shell's partnership for approved lubricants at the time and was said to be hung in a dealership in Europe but this could not be confirmed. This authentic Porsche Shell sign measures an impressive 51 ¾” x 20 ¼” x 4 ½” and weighs roughly 15 lbs.
The seller states the sign is in good overall condition with some age-related patina. The seller notes a small crack on the right corner of the sign which is very hard to see even when lit. The sign is constructed of a sturdy aluminum frame with a translucent plastic face. The sign’s original fluorescent tubes have been carefully updated to more energy efficient LEDs powered by 110v circuitry. Two small hook eyes are mounted on the top of sign for easy hanging. This is an authentic piece of Porsche partnership history that will make a great addition to your collection. Thanks for bidding on this sign. It looks good both day and lit at night. Its a Porsche made dealer sign in , I believe in the 1980s when Shell was teamed with Porsche. Hang it up. Plug it in and its done.
