Available for auction is a genuine and unique 1980s Michelin Tires advertisement from Egypt. According to the seller, this sign was brought over to the UK approximately 25 years ago by a private collector. This gentleman was in the antique business and although automobilia was not his specialist area, he could not help himself as the sign was "full of mystery and adventure as he put it." The sign was not actually for sale as the antique dealer loved it that much but after a couple of years of saying no he finally decided to allow the seller's Father the opportunity. The sign has been hanging in the family garage ever since.
This unique sign measures 77.5" x 19.5" with a depth of 1" and is manufactured in enamel. The most unique aspect of this sign is that the Michelin logo is also written in the Arabic language. It is a piece of automotive advertising art from the middle east that just looks so intriguing and captivating.
According to the seller, the sign has never been restored, touched up, or repaired and is in 100% original condition. The sign is beyond exceptional considering its age and the climate it has been in. There are numerous small markings and light scratches in places, but it is still overwhelmingly beautiful. The Michelin man, with his loveable smile and a friendly wave, is in excellent form. The Michelin name including the Arabic version is superb.
The sign still retains all its original mounting supports (six in total) with only one that has been bent forwards. The remainder of the supports are still usable and in great shape. The very top of the sign (the returned edge) does appear to be the worst affected area in terms of chips and markings but all are in line with the age and use and give a great patina.
Don't miss your opportunity to own an extremely rare and unique vintage MIddle Eastern Michelin advertisement. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.

Hello everyone and thank you for viewing this auction.
Unfortunately I have a relative in hospital at the moment and an overload of commitments and I do sincerely apologize to everyone for my late introduction and for the lack of information regarding shipping.
I just want to let everyone know that worldwide shipping of this sign is available. As of yet I have not packaged the sign as it is currently in storage, however I have listed below an estimated cost of the shipping based on the dimensions:
UK - £100
Europe - €250
U.S.A. - $350
The weight of this sign is quite significant and the size of the sign is substantial. The price above is just an estimate and may vary slightly (possibly less and possibly a little more). I have imputed the measurements with a little extra added on the UPS website as I am always keen to make sure items are very well packaged and as a result the shipping estimation may change slightly.
I always use UPS and each item is fully insured against damage or loss. Furthermore, I do not charge for the actual packaging of the items as I have an abundance of packaging material in storage. The only cost would be for the actual courier itself.
If anyone has any questions please just let me know. Due to my current working and personal commitments and the time zone difference, there may be a slight delay in my response. However, I will always reply to any message as soon as I can.
I want to thank everyone once again for the interest you have shown and I wish you all the very best of success in the auction.
Kind regards
