Finished in Grand Prix White over a black interior, this non-sunroof 1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe has been modified with widened RSR-style fiberglass bodywork and a 930-derived turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six engine paired with an overhauled 5-speed manual gearbox. It has also been equipped with a Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust system, stainless-steel headers, an Andial intercooler, a refurbished K27 turbocharger, MSD ignition, “Big Red” Brembo front brakes, a heavy-duty clutch, HID headlights, 16” Fuchs-style wheels, a MOMO steering wheel, a MOMO shifter, OMP pedals, Sabelt racing harnesses, and GT3 Recaro-style bucket seats. With an engine overhaul completed before the current owner’s purchase in 2013, this custom 930-powered 911SC is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee.

This non-sunroof 911SC Coupe has been modified with wide fiberglass fender flares, RSR-style bumpers, a lightweight fiberglass hood, and a tea tray rear spoiler. The exterior is refinished in Grand Prix White and features HID headlights, Euro-spec taillights, PIAA fog lights, and red brake calipers mounted behind 16” Fuchs-style wheels. The car rides on BF Goodrich tires sized 225/50 in front and 255/50 in the rear with production date codes from 2009 and 2010 respectively. The rubber body seals have been replaced and the seller notes the rear tires are worn and some blemishes and overspray can be seen in the paintwork. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The black interior has been fitted with a pair of GT3 Recaro-style leather bucket seats, Sabelt safety harnesses, a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, a MOMO shifter, RS-style door panels, and OMP pedals with bronze Weltmeister bushings. Other accessories include stainless-steel Turbo-logo door sills, power window switches, a kill switch, an NGK quick-release steering wheel coupler, LED lights, auxiliary under-dash gauges, a replacement headliner, and replacement carpeting with soundproofing insulation added beneath. The seller notes approximately 3k miles have been added under the current ownership and the dashboard upholstery is loose near the base of the windshield.

Reportedly borrowed from a 1983 Porsche 930 Turbo, this 911SC features a turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six engine that was refurbished in 2010 and upgraded with Nikasil-lined cylinders, Goetze piston rings, 911SC cams, ARP head studs, and MSD 6AL ignition, Bosch spark plugs, Magnacore ignition wires, an Andial Racing intercooler, stainless-steel headers, a Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust, and a refurbished K27 turbocharger by Evergreen Turbo. The heads were rebuilt by Xtreme Cylinder Heads and the motor was updated with new chain ramps, pressure-fed chain tensioners, a refurbished oil scavenger pump, a new Bosch fuel pimp, a new wastegate diaphragm, a 1-bar wastegate spring, a stainless-steel oil reserve turbo drain tank, and a 12-row brass oil cooler. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 manual transaxle which was overhauled by GBox Performance with an 8/31 ring and pinion. Stopping power has been upgraded with 993 “Big Red” Brembo front brakes, rear-mounted 944 front calipers, and cross-drilled rotors. The car also features upgraded Turbo tie rods, a bump-steer kit, a 23mm brake master cylinder, and stainless-steel brake lines.

This sale will include a clean title.

@airpower Yeah it definitely a runner! The car is very solid though. I think it would make a cool Iroc build. Ive always wanted to do an Iroc and this would be awesome with the turbo power plant. NO known frame damage on the car. Have been underneath and around the whole thing. Very solid chassis.
    Thanks!

Hey thanks! All good; looks like it could use a little love but a runner...has the tub ever been damaged that you are aware of?

  • Miles.S (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

    @airpower Believe these are 7s and 9s
Proper pistons for the turbo engine. Believe the boost is around 1 bar. Has all of the factory wastegate and boost control. Have to adjust with by changing the spring.

And yes no sunroof! Slick top

    Thank you!

@live2drive_porsche Initially the car was intended to be a track car. Many of the lightweight panels, removal of dash pad, etc. I do not think it ever made it to the track. However the car is built to be driven in a spiritual manner. Very quick car and lots of fun to drive. Id guess maybe 5k miles on the engine build but I have no record of that. Very dry case underneath. Timing cases and valve covers dry as well. I think out of the several air cooleds I have in the shop right now, this is the only one that doesnt leave a mess!

    Thanks,

@nabeeh.hasan Unfortunately no Dyno numbers. It is a strong bump over a factory engine though. Have had a few of these recently and this has been the strongest one.

  • live2drive_porsche (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

How many miles have been put on the 3.3L since the rebuild? Do you know if the car was ever tracked? Leaks?

  • nabeeh.hasan (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

Do you have any dyno-numbers after the rebuild?

    Hi all,

Just wanted to check in here. This is an awesome car incredibly fun to drive! Very lightweight and fast car. Real 930 motor that has recently been refreshed. Packed into a solid SC chassis. It’s really cool hot Rod with the potential to make a turbo RSR or a turbo IROC.

Please let me know if there any questions or requests. The car is available for inspection in East Tennessee at my shop. Shipping is available worldwide. Please reach out if you want to Shipping quote.

    Thanks!
