Based on a 1980 Porsche 911 Turbo, this custom 930 underwent an RSR-style restoration which was completed after a decade of work. The donor car was sourced from its previous owner with just under 30k original miles on the odometer and has since been restored with backdated RSR-style bodywork, new paintwork, a custom red leather interior, a roll cage, rebuilt brakes, and a custom exhaust system for its turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six engine. Previously sold on PCARMARKET, this remarkable 930 RSR tribute is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado.
The bodywork of this Turbo has been customized with a backdated steel long-hood nose section, an RSR-style front bumper, a ducktail rear spoiler, and 964 aero mirrors. The exterior has been refinished in its original color of Light Blue Metallic and decorated with silver racing stripes and Porsche script side logos. Other details include pop-out rear quarter windows sourced from a 1968 Porsche 911, drilled chrome door handles, chrome rear bumperettes, a “slicktop” roof, and 15” Fuchs-style wheels measuring 9” wide up front and 11” wide in the rear. The car rides on a set of Michelin TB15 racing tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been redone and customized with new black carpeting and red leather upholstery. Accessories include aftermarket GT Classics bucket seats with ventilation grommets, RS-style door panels with drilled aluminum handles and leather pull straps, Repa safety harnesses, a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, a wood 917-style shift knob, drilled aluminum Rennline pedals and floorboards, a leather-wrapped roll bar, stainless-steel Turbo-logo door sills, coco floor mats, power windows, and a locking glovebox.
A turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine delivers power to the rear wheels by way of a rebuilt 915 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller indicates the numbers-matching engine produces up to 345 HP featuring a custom exhaust system and headers. The seller adds that all fluids have been flushed along with the installation of new front wheel bearings.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a car that will blow your socks off. It’s incredibly smooth and has a lot of power. It is a very clean car inside and out. Don't miss out on your opportunity to own this special car!”

Sold for $145,000
$145,000 offer from Midlothian, VA (23112)
talk about wanting way more than was paid for it last auction
@Perray we do not have that information.
Looks like a very nice car.
Photo #102 shows that this was originally a Switzerland delivered car. If so, the mileage stated would not be correct since it would have been delivered with a KMH speedo. Is there any history of when the car was imported to the US?
@Porsche997s the owner does not have any paperwork about the build or cost. He was told the build was over $300k
@Grkmf3 I didn’t own the car long. Not because I didn’t enjoy it but I just had too many to enjoy it properly. It’s a great car that’s well done and drives as good as it looks.
Reference picture # 62, for so few miles (271) from pictures on PCM five years ago, it appears to show a lot of wear and tear (rust spots) plus lifting of the decals. Your comments would be appreciated.
@Grkmf3 I am selling for the owner and he has had it since the last PCAR sale, about 5 years ago.
Bid in the amount of $140,000
Bid in the amount of $120,000
Bid in the amount of $100,000
@dan.vigeant (seller) , it seems Ilovecars2 bought this car about 5 years ago. when did you buy it off him? curious how many owners this has had since last PCAR auction
@Reline7500 it has received a bigger turbo throughout the build.
@Porsche997s I will work on getting those uploaded.
@Johnnyfud the roads are very dirty here in Aspen and would prefer to not drive it at high speeds on the highways.
Can you post receipts / documentation of the engine / interior / transmission / backdate rebuild ?
Also, any long term service receipts ?
I am especially curious about the replacement transmission with a rebuilt 915 (this is an uncommon choice for overpowered 930).
Is the transmission numbers matching also? The stock 1980 turbo came with a 4 speed. Also the stock engine was 300hp.
Have there been any engine mods to get the 345hp other than the headers and exhaust?
Beautiful car, and love the period correct ‘ichelin TB15 tires on 15” wheels. Im sure its a rocketship on full throttle!
Any driving videos beyond the 10 feet of the driveway that we see? Mark maybe something on the highway?
Going through the gears at RPM
Wow, the work is top notch, love the color combination. What’s better than a wide body back date?
Bid in the amount of $85,000
Very nice restoration and backdating.
Bid in the amount of $25,000
Bid in the amount of $19,930
@rsr11 i believe auto
@zollerm 5 speed
4 or 5 speed? thanks.
@dan.vigeant thanks for the clarification
@Grkmf3 yes, so the owner has only put a few miles on this. Since owning he has put the decals on and thats it. I felt it was necessary to state the work done to it from the previous owner since it was so little miles ago.
Seller, I’m a bit confused so please correct me if I’m wrong.
According to the previous listing it’s shows you only put 26 miles in here since you purchased it. Is this true?
Also your listing says “all fluids have been flushed along with the installation of new front wheel bearings.“ but previous listing said the owner had the following work done “Rebuilt brake calipers, New wheel bearings, Freshly repacked front bearings, All fluids flushed and bled” so wondering why you had to redo the bearings with no miles put on it?
Do the 964 mirrors work or are the fixed?
@henryr decals and basic service has been done since last sale. Yes, decals can be removed.
what has been done from last sale? it was repainted or just the decal package? decals can be removed? thx
